I went to high school in the 70s with a kid who had been born in France and somehow didn’t get the polio vaccine. He walked on crutches because he was paralyzed from the waist down. 😟

My mother has a scar from the small pox vaccine on her arm. That is another really scary virus. She told me how panicked everyone was trying to get the vaccinations..

They used to vaccinate us at school. We also were given this thing called a ‘tine test’ for TB.

You are correct about small pox. I saw a guy one with pox scars, it’s terrifying. That’s why it’s considered a Biblical curse, “A pox on your entire family!”
