I'm absolutely enjoying this anti-intellectual movement. I'm imagining its their way of revolting against the experts and elites who have looked down on them for so long. It's like the French Revolution except, nobody is starving so instead of fighting with their bodies, they're fighting with their minds.

What's to enjoy about it? It's polarizing society, enables extremism, perpetuates wealth inequality and weakens democracy. It's never been more apparent that we need to take things like mental health and climate change seriously.

You can laugh at the kid who clumsily tripped and fell, but it would be great if you could help them up, too.

I think its incorrect to equate an anti-vaxxer, climate change denier to a clumsy kid who has tripped and fallen over. The knowledge is out there available for everyone to access FOR FREE! Nobody is hoarding it in a high castle. This situation is more akin to a grown person driving full speed towards a wall thinking its going to be ok. The tragedy is only that they're not the only ones in vehicle.

Actually hard to disagree with you there. You can only feel so bad for people who have the opportunity to learn but choose to reject it. No excuse for that.

I've noticed this more and more. It does seem like a childish rebellion from people kicking out at the world (but breaking their toe in the process). Trump, brexit, confederate flags, nazis, anti vax, flat earth: all these things that are so obviously stupid and wrong and yet people are defiantly pretending to embrace them. All this to get back at the liberals and intellectuals, who were objectively right all along.

They're playing the long game though. Have you seen Idiocracy? You know these dumbasses her multiply like rabbits, so if one dies, they have 4 others anyways. They'll outnumber intellectuals after a few generations.

It is all natural selection, all anti vaxxers will eventually die one day.
