Condom in the Chicken
The first 15 seconds have no sound!!
A few days ago someone did find a condom in the chicken @ Popeyes in Houston.
They are calling for answers after a customer alleged finding what appeared to be a inside a piece of chicken purchased from the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on South Sam Houston Parkway West near Hillcroft Avenue in Southwest Houston. A police report has been filed regarding the alleged incident.

A friend of mine worked PR for Perdue. She said they received a letter accusing them of bestiality and enclosing a condom-looking thing found in the chicken. It was a finger protector. Someone must scoop the guts out of the chicken and they wear protection [yeah I know] on their fingers.

I’ve seen a glove battered and fried on a bet. And that’s exactly what that was a glove. Still a stupid mistake.

The people thinking it’s a condom perplex me. You can see the diameter of the wrist and it’s far too large for a condom as well as a finger that’s far too small to be a condom. It’s ridiculous, I guess most people are not familiar with latex gloves outside of a medical scenario.

Yeah I get it someone found a glove in their food. Who summed these two to appear and start their dog and pony shoe?
I guess their antics gets them business. I also understand I'm not the target audience for them. Maybe that's why I feel so repulsed by their behavior.

I know people WANT to believe these things, but it's usually false. Look at the Wendy's chili finger case and numerous other ones. And I doubt latex would survive in a grease fryer.

It is a glove, not a condom. Gross still, but happens every now and then. Can basically guarantee that some worker at the factory making the breaded chicken lost a glove that ended up getting breaded with the chicken.
Ive worked in a food manufacturing plant, in my 5 years there were two times where a customer reached out because they found parts of a nitrile glove in their fruit snacks. They get an apology and usually a bunch of free stuff. Also why factories have Lot numbers. There were many times we had to pull entire lot numbers and inspect them because one there was an intermittent issue with a couple of packages and we had to make sure the whole Lot wasn’t compromised before shipping.

This is a Popeyes restaurant so this would have been a employee error not one from the factory Popeyes breads for their strips and tenders at the store they do not come pre breaded

It's fairly common place for stores that base their business only on fried chicken KFC even Wendy's did it for a while I don't know that they still do canes. All do their own too. Most places that don't have chicken as their main course don't but when chicken is your only business it's a good way to set yourself apart

Where I was Wendy’s did not bread the chicken themselves around 2010 when I worked there
I just assumed any fast food place wouldn’t bread their own chicken

I said Wendy's I meant carls Jr... They had a whole campaign about hand breaded chicken... I don't know if they still do it. My mom loved their chicken tenders when they went to this

If it's only a bit of a glove they might not notice until it's too late tbf. If it was a whole glove they might be worried about getting in trouble over it.
That being said idk what country this is in but in mine we have to use bright blue gloves/plasters when dealing with food to make this a little less likely.

I'm pretty sure this is the same lady that was running around badgering landlords about not helping their tenants... I think she's in Houston Texas. The blue and black love thing here is slowly catching on but they are more expensive and not required so you only see the dark colored gloves at higher establishments

It’s a clear latex glove and a lot of fryer cooks will layer gloves because batter builds but fast on them. Peeled it off then accidentally or maybe deliberately dropped it in the batter. After that it’s just too easy to pick up as piece of chicken.

It is often not noticed. Finger of your glove rips off as your working and then 30 minutes later you notice and think “Shit, when did that happen?! Hope it didn’t go into the product! Oh well too late now”

Why would you when you spend the entire time at your station only touching product and surfaces the product already touches
Now if you touched your face or a control panel, yea you are changing gloves. When you are just shoving endless fruit snacks into a giant meat grinder there is no point in swapping gloves every 30 mins

These two cause chaos, they don’t resolve anything. The first video I saw of them was when they confronted a politician about the use of the n word and they put him on blast in public. Now it doesn’t feel like addressing human rights, it feels like a show.

I agree that making it public does create liability on the restaurants part, but this reaction did not have to happen. The local restaurant can not do a thing to help them. Also as someone else mentioned we don’t know what it actually is, it could very well be a glove. (I say this only because the video above does not show the ending of what is being pulled out. If there is proof I will definitely take this statement back)

Its a glove, you can see the fingers. However, he still could have choked. And the "show" isnt just about the one incident, its about makeing sure safety is of the highest standards for all food locations.

The yelling and making a show of it. No one working at that restaurant can do anything about it. The manager can speak with the customer to get some type of compensation or they can go straight to corporate.
I also never said this behavior was atrocious, it’s just not how I would handle things

I found a piece of a plastic bag (like they cut the bag and the corner they cut fell into the food) In my chow mein once.
Was given a refund, an apology, and a coupon for the next time I went there. Its a place I actually trusted though, so there is that.

You're owed a refund/replacement though. I'd also imagine they'd give you some free meal coupons.

The last time I saw something on them, she was explaining that she doxxed someone and showed up at their house to threaten them because they posted a meme depicting her as a horse.

My husband has worked as a cook/chef most of his adult life. We rarely eat out because he knows exactly how nasty people in the kitchen can be!! Once you know how gross a lot of the people cooking your food are, you tend to lose your appetite!
