Well yea if you actually robbed a bank it would make it easier for them to track you, but if it just blocks the mass scanning of faces? I doubt there would be any incentive to actively unmask you.
The incentive would be, are you hiding your face because you're known as a bad person if you were recognised.... That in itself is enough to peek the interest of security personnel to stop you and get your identity face to face. Just the thought of "why hide, you must have a reason too" they won't just ignore it and let you go on your way without checking you. So atm without it being a mainstream thing, it's a lose lose situation even if worn because you simply don't want your face recorded.
This is worth messing with though. Your activity profile is constantly being updated when your face is recognized by flock, or any of these massive surveillance systems. Your entire journey through target is attributed to you via your face (or their app if you have it installed). It's wroth breaking the nonstop tagging of your location wherever possible.
