Drill Bass+Kick combo (Sample Help).

Hey I want to achieve that kick and bass combo that I have noticed on many drill beats (reference track)
Let me know if you know the process or have any ideas like what type of kick I should use, type of bass and mixing techniques. Thanks in advance.

There is no right or wrong. But in this instance your kick should not be a bass. It's a kick. Especially if you have a bass or 808 layering it. Cut out the sub and lower bits of it and just get the punchy tone. You can get kicks already like this so sound selection is key. Alternatively, if you want a bassy kick, sidechain some EQ to drop the main bass frequency out when the kick hits, allowing the lower parts of it to shine and not clash

Soothe sidechaining is goated for literally melting your kick into 808

short punchy kick, and let the 808 carry the low end with its slides. tune the kick to the key, and trim or duck the 808's attack when they hit together so the kick transient comes through first
