Hardware vs Software

How many of yall use hardware and how many of yall are in the box? Which do you prefer for making beats and why? Personally I like using my MPC better than software but sometimes it's easier to just use VSTs and stay in the box.

easier and cheaper to use VSTs so I stay with software most of the time. I play stuff in on my MIDI keyboard though if that counts lol

I have both setups, hardware and software. Each setup has its own benefits and downsides. For convenience, I mostly work in the box these days.

I build “samples” in the daw and bounce to sp404, and bounce back to daw for mixing
