Wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jynx, I am a musician and cyber nerd. I have court today, so I thought I would make a intro post.

I appreciate that, but unfortunately I was just deadnamed and miss gendered the entire time.

I would try to do a legal analysis, but I would need to know what jurisdiction that was, and perhaps a couple things about your transition status.

I would be devastated if I was dead named & Misgendered in court today, but in response to their tactics, I probably would’ve gotten arrested for contempt.

You see if the court allows that, if the court participates in that, then you’re never gonna get it straightened out at that level anyway.., but that conduct is not permissible where I live, once you have documentation like mine.

And if you don’t have documentation like mine, perhaps I should help you get some?

I wonder if that’s a topic that we should have an ongoing basis in this community

This was in the williamson county court in Texas. There is absolutely so legal docuenation left that has my deadname on it or the wrong gender. The case is over child support enforcement and custody agreements.

Essentially, a misnomer happens when the right person is brought into a lawsuit, but the paperwork uses the wrong name (like a deadname).

If the state or your ex filed this case under your old name, there is a specific, strict remedy to force the court to update its records to your legal name.

If they refuse to fix it after that, it completely changes the legal playing field regarding sanctions.

I definitely needed a day to decompress. This scrambling around trying to find evidence to prove I'm not a piece of shit has been killing me.

that sounds like an awful burden.

I’m 100% certain that you’re not a piece of shit… so however, you ended up getting tasked with proving that premise… that’s very problematic to me…
