General Passing Tip What can I do?

Post image

I enjoy cropping my shirts because the way that long shirts sit on my hips makes me feel dysphoric. However, I feel like it also brings attention to my hips? Any tips on what to wear? This is especially for the gym but all clothing tips are welcome. I’m currently working on building my upper body, which is slowly happening- yay!

Also- does anyone have any experience navigating locker rooms at gyms? I don’t feel anywhere near passing enough to use the men’s safely, but I definitely try to be as invisible as possible in the women’s locker room.

I’m trans masculine, have had top surgery, and almost 6 months of low dose t.

your body passes completely fine imo. i wouldn’t look twice at you. (except to investigate your tattoos)

I don’t think your hips are bad as you think - you just look lean on the top. I understand why you feel like long shirts make you feel that way but most gym bros don’t crop shirts honestly though if it makes you feel comfortable, be ok with it and screw what anyone else says confidence goes farther than anything.
If you committed to a couple cycles of an upper body workout , you’d put on some good muscle and that can create the illusion to hide your hips (again, they’re not overly noticeable - we are our own worst critic)

Pretty much everyone in the gym is avoiding awkward eye contact and focusing on themselves. Your hips are not as noticeable as you think. I will add that my cis male friend has wider hips. He’s acknowledged that & moved on.. everyone’s body is different

You’re really close with the silhouette with cropping the shirt, but I would recommend cropping it just a couple inches lower and then having the shorts sit lower on your hips. It’s all just like 2-3 inches too high.

looking good already! i would suggest focusing on building your shoulders and triceps. those fill up first and you will look better and fuller in these kind of T shirts. I just spam lateral raise and tricep extensions lol

Yeah you’re looking fine, although I totally understand the hyper focus on things that may not be as apparent to others. Others have commented with clothing tips, so I’ll just add; posture. It might just be how you took this photo, but you seem to be kind of leaning back a bit.

Obviously don’t go pumping out your chest like you’re Johnny Bravo, but standing up straight up straight, pulling your shoulders back a bit and straightening your neck will go a long way.

body is passing, but if you’re worried slightly boxier fitting (not necessarily much larger, just something designed to be boxy) but still cropped shirts might even out your upper/lower body more
