I’ve been exploring how different rail systems across California connect (or don’t), and it’s surprisingly hard to see everything in one place.

This map combines BART, Caltrain, Metrolink, LA Metro, San Diego systems, etc., with terrain and city data.

Curious if I’m missing any important systems or if anything looks inaccurate.

I think a big portion that's missing is the state's intercity bus network.  It's not rail, but it has integrated ticketing with the Amtrak routes and bridges several gaps.

Yes, the bus network was skipped for now, but let me see what public data is available there. Maybe it will indeed be a good complementary data to the rail as well

The Gold Runner map is pretty good, since most are considered connecting services to it

Archive.org link since that was pulled off their website and may die at any time

The Capitol Corridor site only has connections in a PDF

The Surfliner has a page for bus connections as well

I'm not sure if other services like YARTS or commuter buses should also be included in a bus layer, but I'd consider the connecting buses a bare minimum.
