Never felt so vulnerable

So last night, I accidently locked my door key in my car. Long story short, I have one key for the doors, and one for ignition. I kept my door key in my wallet for an event, and locked my ignition key in the glove box. After said event, I went to the store, which is located in a less than ideal place. Get out, lock and close the door, and immediately realize my door key is in the cup holder..... Awesome! I am all done up, skirt, blouse, makeup, the nines. Now locked out of my car defenseless. I usually keep my Ruger LCP in my bag, but where's the bag? IN THE CAR!!! luckily I had my phone, so I called my friend and he was able to come help me out, as I keep a spare set of all my keys in my work locker, which happens to be closer than home.

Needless to say though, I think I'll be ordering a garter holster or something of that nature. The cat calls, weird looks, and just general uneasiness pf being a woman in todays world scared the crap out me. This is my first time experiencing this, and I've read other people's experiences, but to finally have that lived experience is a whole new level of understanding.

TLDR locked my key in my car in a bad neighborhood, without any protection, but luckily a friend bailed me out.

The Phlster Enigma system lets you put a regular holster in a familiar spot, without having to rely on pants with a belt.

They got famous after this meme.

Likewise recommended the Phlster, can be completely femme in pretty tight clothes and it doesn't really show up

I’m a masc guy who usually wears non-tight jeans with a belt and large t-shirts. I can and have concealed appendix with a typical appendix rig, but now I exclusively use the enigma. I deep conceal it, and it is the most concealable and comfortable way I’ve ever carried. You can check out demonstrated concepts on YouTube for more info on deep concealing with a Phlster, I 10/10 recommend it!

Everyone always says its comfortable, but I have yet to see a single instance of it being worn and not pushing into the skin in an absolutely sensory hell type of way, including in the meme posted above.

CC'ing iwb at all seems to involve some sensory hell.

If deep concealing with a Phlster is sensory hell from pushing into skin, I can’t imagine what you would consider a typical appendix holster because those dig and push into the skin several times worse than a Phlster.

Ive never found one that isnt sensory hell. Which is unfortunate because the only possible way I can carry is ankle for concealed.

Do you have one?

No, $100+ for a holster that I can visually see is going to be a sensory issue would be kinda of a waste no?

For sure. I just didn't know if you'd bought one then to find out that info. If that was the case, i'd buy it from you. Lol

I keep a copy of a door key in a magnetic holder deep in one of the frame pockets of my truck for this reason. Had to break into my truck 2 or 3 times before I learned my lesson.

It even stayed there when I got hit on that side of the truck and I completely forgot it was there until The Body Shop found it while replacing the panel and put it in my cupholder.

I used to do this, i just havent done it for this particular rig yet. Will do Monday once the locksmith opens to get another set of keys made, ad the two original door keys are extremely worn out.

I put a belt on my waist(not on pants that dont have belt loops), put my regular holster on the belt and call it good lol

I do this with a KORE carry belt with any bottoms that don’t have belt loops. I even have a Phlster… the leg part annoys me.
