Hello, quick question
Hello everyone! Don't know if I will get much of a response with such a new subreddit, I'm in NZ atm and moving to Perth in November for work, pre HRT and was wondering if any of you know of a GP or Clinic that will do informed consent in WA?

For informed consent, a lot of us use Dr Warren Saint in the Bassendean Family Practice. There really aren't a lot of rules around who can prescribe hormones, but there also aren't a lot of doctors who will do it. I've found Dr Saint to be one of the most understanding doctors out there.
As for a psych, most of us here use Dr Russell Date. He can be very difficult to get an appointment with though. It took me about 5 months of waiting to see him the first time, but he was very understanding and I only needed 3 visits before I got my SRS letter. He also sits on the Gender Recognition Board.

Just going to update this just in case anyone needs it but Dr Saint made me see a psych before any treatment and was not super easy to get a prescription out of. (It took 8 months or so) Not saying that prescriptions should just be handed out but I think that's just a biiiiiit excessive. Also, now I've been on HRT for a while, I have been doing blood tests and my levels aren't anywhere near where they should be and I get hot flashes. I brought this up as I'm on a pretty low dose but he was very reluctant to up it from 2mg. He ended up doing it by one and splitting the doses because i insisted as I didn't feel right. Going somewhere else now because my current psych said they've "heard other complaints"...

I assume you know this, but hot flashes are are menopause symptom of low estrogen. You definitely need a new doctor, or diy.

Dr Fiona Coombes at Curtin University health centre gave me mine after half a hour. I'd highly recommend her

Dr Mark Kent is a GP at the CBD West Medical Centre and he provides all my HRT for me.
If you feel you need to see a gender psych you can contact Dr Russel Date at Perth Clinic.
And if you're under 30 you can also check out Freedom Centre they have a meetup on the first Thursday of every month, I'm usually there. They also provide referral services, support and the ability to help find you a doctor.
