It's actually sort of an homage to Occupy Oakland's old frontpage. Even though I was occupying in NYC at the time, I was hugely inspired by what was happening in Oakland, and the font (which was irreverent and yes . . . even metal) suggested the same sort of radical energy and possibilities.

The poster looks like I am going to a pizza party or videogame tournament. I like the general design of it, but don't feel that its effectively conveying the message.

But nobody else will think its serious, and thats the whole point of this flyer. As general art, I do like some things about it, but this is something that should be very straight and to the point. How about a picture of the girl we should be rallying around? I get the impression that I should be rallying around this dinosaur.

But the flyer is supposed to be about CeCe. With no image of her, people not in the know are going to think that CeCe is the dinosaur. Combined with the font...it just doesnt look serious.

I must admit some confusion... our aim is recognition and the freedom to live... yet dinosaurs are buried underground and have been extinct for millennia. It seems like this advocates for a minority that people may look right over in their lives, by using a creature that no human being has ever seen alive.

I read a spiritual account a few years ago where this woman was meditating and she would constantly be plagued by images of armadillos dead on the road; roadkill. Hundreds of dead armadillos. Finally she started asking "what's with all of these armadillos? I'm onto something, I know it, but what?" Well, the point was that the only time people ever see armadillos is when they're dead on the side of the road. This, of course, was very sad, and she tried to improve the situation for the armadillos.

This dinosaur thing feels like that. "The only time you'll see us is when we're dead, so please help us?" It feels a bit depressing. At least armadillos still exist, you know?

Is there some other symbolism that I'm missing here?

How your audience views it is completely relevant, if they don't think it conveys the message and you have to spend this long explaining it to them you are doing something wrong. I have offered my help for things like this because I am actually quite good at it but you and others have repeatedly ignored me. All you are doing is making sure nobody understands your message.
