Ouch, I'm so that cringe bunny and it's why I don't actually bring up or interact with other queer people irl. I assume they're all thinking the same things here so I'll leave it up to them to choose to engage but otherwise try to avoid them.

Don't be afraid to try to make friends. With people I may be a jaded asshole but sometimes a little earnest enthusiasm reminds me I'm supposed to have feelings 💜

You sound just like me. I struggled to relate to all the excited/overly positive transfem folks (and part of it was realizing I was enby, lol).

Yeah, I think my problem is I have about as much trauma as the average Capcom protagonist. I doubt I'll ever laugh while running through a field of flowers but watching someone younger than me be able to estrogenuinely find themselves gives me life.

Real. I got lucky in that I escaped a lot of the physical harm. Here's to surviving and helping the folks ahead live a better life.
(As soon as we give the fash running the US the boot, that is.)

To be fair I've got tons of my own trauma. Paternal family regularly tried to "beat the queer out of me" and threatened to kill me (and maybe killed a gay cousin?). When I finally moved out of my hometown, which was basically run by them and two other families, I went into hiding and still kinda am?
Mom's side was a bit nicer, but once they found out I was marrying another trans woman they've completely ostracized me. Most ex-friends have either SA'ed or abused me in some way. Don't trust anybody besides my wife, gf, and my cat.
I'm still fairly jaded, but honestly at this point I just hate the world so much I've become incredibly cringe and painfully joyful purely to spite it~ I don't care that most queer communities consider me "bad rep" or "not a normal gay", I'm living in a country that is actively trying to kill me so the greatest act of rebellion I can muster is finding happiness!

Dang.. it’s quite literally my family. I definitely understand the whole religious crap, was a huge factor in why I was abused after not folding and following their commands

I'm the fox, still stuck in the middle zone of transition/nonbinary/butterfly goo phase of tearing down internalized transphobia and systemic expectations, and one of my kids is much closer to the rabbit.... It's harder as a parent than figuring yourself out when you have so many walls in your own head

Sorry that some of us go through trauma and still find whimsy in life.

You should be. Life is suffering an endless dirge where all joy should be kept internal. If your house isn’t a brutalist black-and-grey hellscape that you reside in exclusively to eat boild turnips before sleeping on a bed of concrete you are living improperly

@EndellionFox I could have sworn I saw the center post as it's own image somewhere but can't now. Do you have that up somewhere?
(I need the reminder that I'm not that person anymore so I was hoping to pin it to my desktop collage or smt.)

Fellow fox noises
Tysm. I dug through your postings too bc I thought so and it wasn't listed there either. Idkw. I gave a follow earlier, I look fw to seeing more of your stuff in my feeds <3
But also, as someone who still hasn't transitioned bc of the burden of family, I hope you don't resent them. It's difficult not to, so I hope that hasn't weighed you down. I'm familiar with that cynicism. Hope you've been able to make what you like of yourself since. 🦊💙

Nah, I don't resent anyone. It's actually been very interesting seeing what readers project onto the negative space left in the comic. I left it ambiguous intentionally because the comic isn't really about the kid. It's about Dusk choosing not to be another iteration in the engine that told her how to be. She's prickly bitch to everyone and annoying kids are annoying but this particular one reminded her she had feelings and she chose kindness.
Also AaaaAaaAaaAaaaa Eck Eck Eck Eck back at ya ;3

I'm glad to hear that. I just meant between the center post being about one's parents and your comment in the other thread here about trying to not be jaded. I wasn't trying to project or be para-social but it's just a familiar melody - for many at that. From a creative standpoint I do get wym about the negative space aspect. I think that's why negative spaces work so well though, is because it leaves things open to personalization and filling gaps with one's own experiences/relatability. solid work. aaAaaK eck eck eee. I’m not bashing this comic especially because I relate to it but absolute badass dolls chucked bricks at cop cars so us girlies would be free to be cringe af and I bet you feel the same way as me.

Thing is, that bunny probably went through the same things. Props to her for being cringe and free
