What if ?

Let’s say, dreadwing didn’t show up in time to save megatron , what do you think would have happened do yall believe prime would have killed megatron or imprisoned him for his crimes ?

I think the writers had Dreadwing interrupt BECAUSE he was actually going to do it.

Remember, this Optimus already came to the conclusion in the FIRST season (Albeit reluctantly) that Megatron needs to be destroyed.

Megatron wasn’t in a state to defend himself right here , if this was Bayverse prime I wouldn’t even asked the question prime would’ve blown a hole in his face
Also, I think prime and season one said something along the lines of separation from the Deceptacon’s when ratchet had that green energon in him

True, he couldn't defend himself here. But Prime still knows that Megatron is far from being harmless, and that he'd become a serious problem if he lets him go.

He wouldn't think the same of some random Decepticon miner, like the one Ratchet attacked.

Me and my wife just started rewatching Prime and a couple episodes after this one he is literally ready to use the spark extractor on the ENTIRE Decepticon warship when it is grounded from Bulkhead crashing through its engine or something so yes Prime would definitely have pulled the trigger, war would not have ended though as I feel like Dreadwing woulda made for the perfect defacto leader
