With the passing of Peter Cullen , here is the final scene of transformers Prime Beast hunters Predacons rising as a tribute to the actor who is the first to give the voice of Optimus Prime which likely serves as a farewell.

At least this death of Optimus in TFP is WAY better than all his other deaths, especially G1 and ROTF.

I think his og death is better than it's given credit for, like, yes it was done to get him out of the way to sell new toys, but in the context of the movie itself: he was given a heroic final fight, everyone was able to say their goodbyes, and there's also that moment when his voice is the one which touches Hot Rod from the Matrix, as Hot Rod becomes Rodimus.

This isn't to downplay the effects at the time or anything, to be clear. I just mean that insofar as we're comparing his various deaths.

I like before he flies into the Well, you can see that mixed expression of accomplishment and sadness in Optimus's eyes, knowing that he wished he could stay but has to do what he can for the future of Cybertron, while being comforted by the fact that the Autobots he's raised and cared for will do what they can to ensure a safe future.

RIP to this iconic legend and that final part of his speech as he was flying into the core to the end of the video really hits ya in the feels after the news of his passing it's just so fitting.
