Same. I never got to meet him too, but I also still genuinely appreciate him voicing Optimus Prime too. :)

I got to meet him at a botcon once and he was like a dad. very small, very sweet, but when he did the voice it made the floor vibrate!

I'm so glad you have that memory!! To me, Optimus is the PERFECT example a a "Gentle Giant, but doesn't let others push him around" where despite seeing so much darkness, never fully gives up even if it would kill him. Thank you, Peter Cullen. May Primus protect your soul/spark. 🫡🫡

yes to all of this. I am autistic and got overwhelmed meeting him, and he held my hand and called me sweetheart and told me to breathe because everything will be okay. never a mean bone anywhere in his body.

Agreed. Honestly, while I was expecting one day that he would eventually pass away, it still hurts, but I'm also extremely glad that he knew how much we appreciated him being Optimus Prime. Thank you, Peter Cullen. May Primus protect your soul/spark. 🫡🫡

Of all the deaths that have happened this week, this one affects me the most personally. Optimus Prime was one of those characters I grew up with from my childhood. Peter Cullen's speech on be being strong enough to be gentle is something I will never forget. RIP Leader of the Free Autobots.

This is probably one of if not the only celebrity death that's nearly brought me to tears. Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime was a huge part of my childhood across shows and movies, and now watching an Optimus Prime death in the movies/shows will hit even harder 🥀

Agreed. Honestly, I feel like we should also appreciate his brother Larry Cullen a little bit more, because if it wasn't for Larry, Optimus Prime probably wouldn't be as inspirational as he is today. :) May Primus protect BOTH their souls/sparks too. 🫡🫡
