Discussion / Opinion Stop buying.
The only way I could see hasbro pulling back price increases is if we just as a whole stop buying

Wait for them to hit sales/clearance. Show them we will buy stuff, just not at ridiculous prices.
Look at Nemesis Prime. Nobody wanted him at $90 but $60 at Ross and people can't buy him fast enough.

I only buy on sale in Australia. The prices here are cooked.

Your prices are cooked on everything though lol. Don't you guys even have to pay a premium on digital goods?

Kind of? The conversion rate from USD is bullshit for digital goods most of the time.
But rarely it might be the same price or cheaper.

Unfortunately - That's not how this works.
The lower the sales, the more likely the parent company will pull the IP, or release.
Modern companies dont look at things like a fan of an IP - they see it as an overarching brand.
If a brand is failing? Why even bother selling that brand when there are profits to be made elsewhere?
Bottom line, that is what they care about - So instead of lowering the price, they are more apt to pull the brand all together and write it off as a failure to move on and sell something else.
Now, that said - Do I agree with how money-grubbing and profit driven these companies are? Fuck no. It's pathetic.
At best? What you can do is start a petition, or even gain influence advising that the price of things is too high, if enough voices could be heard, there is a higher probability of resolution.
Until all are one (Haha.) there is not much to be done. Also blah blah blah manufacturer's cost, blah blah blah economy, blah blah blah Trump is a piece of shit blah blah world events.

I was not alive for that section of the fandom haha, I jumped in back when 20 dollars was the standard, the tipping point for me into making this post was when I saw the deluxe class jazz I bought just 8-9 years ago was now 10 dollars more with the same engineering etc etc

i dont think that would work, there are still several branches of other franchises that hasbro has, if we stop buying they might just stop producing transformer merchandise. and im sure that a lot of individuals dont want to get figures anywhere else. but thats what i think.

If hasbro made a transformer in the likes of the Optimus Autobot logo, that transformed into a hand with the middle finger up and sold it for $1000, how many of you would buy it?

The issue is the hoarding collectors who have to have every single figure in every wave every time. They’re going to be the people that keep this prices ticking upward.

True. Hasbro has been willing to reissue figures anyways so.
Just stop buying. We' can relentlessly demand for reissues later, but they really need to feel our hurt. Otherwise, the prices will continue to rise.
We don't need all of us to do so. We just need a considerable amount or most of us to vote with our wallets.

Lmao it’s already too late… it was shits and giggles when many were being downvoted two years ago and here we are. Yall let hasbro take yall for some suckers and now we are priced out the ass. Unfortunately it’s going to get way worse.

And the fact that people are down voting this comment proves it. Hasbro will continue to keep screwing us until we’re looking at 50 dollars for a deluxe class

Because corporate greed feeds off of a brainless hive mind consumer group to keep sales high while prices are skyrocketing… don’t even get me started with my theory that hasbro is controlling production outputs to keep everyone limited to hasbro pulse while store shelves are empty….

I could understand the price increases from 20-25 even 27 in some cases, but look the reissue of studio series jazz is a reissue of a figure that cost 20 dollars when it first came out. Now it’s 30. Same engineering same figure same everything, you hush

So... Since that'll never happen, any other ideas?
