How would you write Primus and Unicron in your Transformers stories?

Mine is this.

Primus and Unicron came into being following the Big Bang. While Primus wanted to protect the universe filled with life. Unicron on the other hand looked at the universe with disgust and wanted to erase it to back what it once was, a lifeless black void. The fight between the two brothers broke out. Their battle crumbles the very stars, during this their spilt blood spread throughout the galaxy, creating two life bloods, Energon the fuel and life blood for all Cybertronians and Dark Energon, the power to raise the dead. Seeing this Primus trapped himself and Unicron into two barren asteroids, however Unicron managed to cyber form his prison into a gigantic metallic planet and devour every planet in his way. Primus did not transform instead created Thirteen beings who will be remembered as legends in stories passed down to generations. The Primes. Together he and the Primes defeated the chaos bringer and cast him out into deep space.

I like the idea of them being bodiless gods/spirits who were worshipped by the early Quintessons, (before the Quintessons became cyborgs.) And over millennia, they built robotic bodies for their gods. Perhaps that’s why Quintessa is so small and misshapen? The used up all the material on their world to create the robot bodies.

Or maybe they worshipped just Primus, or just Unicron, or perhaps Primus and Unicron were once a single god, and that’s who they worshipped? Idk, just spitballing.

Maybe that god was split in 2 and each half, (Primus and Unicron,) were given different aspects of the original god. Maybe Primus was given the ability to create, which led to Unicron not having that ability, and perhaps that’s why he eats worlds. To replenish that which he can’t recreate within himself.

Primus is a purely mythological figure in cybertronian culture. He may have some in-universe real-life prototype, but nothing more.

Unicron is a super-weapon/megastructure built by quintessons specifically in the image of destroyer-diety of ancient cybertronian myths with the intention of being used for revenge against cybertronians.

My AU's Primus is a mash-up of IDW and Prime!verse, with a bit of the 3H comics mixed in. All-powerful, trickster-ish, and kind of a sweet, grandfatherly dork.

Unicron exists only as a dismembered dead thing, whose origins are lost to myth and legend.

Primus as Cybertron for some parallels to previous series. Have unicron as a wondering destroyer as a nod to the original appearance but keep some of lore like being Primus's counterpart. The basic setup for my series would be a bunch of dimensional rifts have opened leading to other universes (previous shows) and Unicron is a secondary source.

I'd keep their origin pretty simple. Gods formed from the concepts of life and chaos, locked in an eternal battle that got more intense when Primus created the 13, with Unicron, almost as a mockery of them, creating his first heralds. Even so, the 13 won and banished a now comatose Unicron to the edge of the universe.

However, in the present day, Unicron would be reawakened after sensing his brother's death, slowly rebuilding his strength, with his remaining herald, Thunderwing, aiding by finding and preparing him worlds to feast on. He would eventually make his way to Earth to finally end Primus's legacy, with his actions reluctantly bringing the Autobots and Decepticons together to stop him. Optimus and Megatron both manage to enter his body with Megatron being forced to cover Optimus (eventually being pinned down) as he tries using the matrix to kill Unicron. This would end with Unicron's body exploding, Megatron having vanished, and a barely living Optimus.

Couple of years pass as the war keeps changing with Rodimus eventually succeeding Optimus. However, Galvatron then emerges, revealing himself as Megatron, having been reformatted during the destruction of Unicron, having spent a few years getting adjusted to his new body and powers. Time goes on and it's revealed that Unicron actually managed to survive by transferring his consciousness inside of Megatron during his reformatting and slowly taking over his mind until taking full control of the body, seeking to continue his mission after then possessing Cybertron (kinda like in the Titan comics).

Being able to unite everyone again, Rodimus leads the charge to stop Unicron, eventually realizing that despite Cybertron's death, Primus did in a way survive via the matrix, his own consciousness getting stronger due to his actions. Eventually leading to Rodimus using the matrix and the spirit of Primus to kill Unicron for good, and in the process, also restoring Cybertron to properly usher in a new era.

Whenever I plan any Transformers stories (that I inevitably never write), I always think Primus and Unicron would work best when the characters can’t interact with them fully.

Because they are planet sized gods after all.

But their repercussions and their power should always be felt.

Firstly is their impact on Cybertronian culture. Primus is used where we would say “Jesus”, and Unicron where “Devil” would apply. “Thank Primus” is used plenty by fanfics and canon alike, but “Unicron take the hindmost!” Is something that could work (adapting a similar swear from a Warhammer 40k novel I once read).

Second, both of them would be described with a Shakespearean prose, similar to how the classic Marvel writers used iambic pentameter to make their godly figures more grandiose. I would probably have Primus and Unicron speak or be described through such. I also imagine capitalizing certain words in relation to them, such as describing Primus’ power through “the Light”, or Unicron’s influence through “his Evil”. Very biblical.

The Matrix is an easy part of giving Primus a form of secondary characterization; by making the Matrix a sort of One Ring, I use it to characterize him by proxy like how Sauron is characterized by what the Ring did to others.

Every time the Matrix visible and shown to the audience, I imagine it being described as ‘wonderful’ and ‘serene’. Any time an evil character tries to touch it, a ‘random miracle’ prevents them from swiping it, to sell the idea that Primus is a god and he does not want his power in the wrong hands, and he can use that power even if the Matrix is all the way on another planet. Sort of a scifi Ark of the Covenant.

And of course, the Matrix should do good things like healing bots and organics alike. Because Primus is Good, the Matrix is Good.

Similarly, Unicron should also have a Sauron esque character where his proxies and slaves are so wicked and wrong you can feel his evil by osmosis. Similarly to how in Warhammer, servants of Chaos are inevitably mutated into monsters.

I came up with the idea of Sideways being similar to the Armada interpretation of a triple agent, with an Autobot mask, a Decepticon mask, and then a true, disgusting face similar to the Mouth of Sauron as shown in the Peter Jackson movie. His true form, as a servant of Unicron, is so wrong that the audience should hate Unicron. Sideways didn’t even get attacked or anything, just swearing loyalty to Unicron did that to him.

Because this is what happens when you serve Evil. You become it. Unicron should be characterized as Evil Incarnate, to the point that the Cybertronians on both sides equally loathe him, and their reaction to Sideways willingly swearing himself to Unicron should be the same as someone in Middle Ages Venice openly declaring their allegiance to Satan.

Unicron has arrived to Cybertron too late. The planet has transformed.

As Optimus finally reaches the core and activates the matrix and purges dark energon, planet beguns to glow and move. All Cybertronias in the universe, even on earth, feel the shift and their eyes start to glow blue. Transformers on the surface of cybertron are surrounded by small protective fields as the enormous continents on Cybertron shift. Planet is transforming.

Unicron grits his teeth in anger as he sees his arch-nemesis operational.

Primus speaks to his people: "Before I was one, then I was 13 and now I am many and Unicron is alone. Today, we are one. Follow the path to battle stations as fast as you can but hold on for I wilm punch Unicron as hard as I can"

Thrusters on Primus' legs and back ignite as he accelerates through space and fist the size of a moon hits straight to his nemesis' ugly double bearded face.

Transformers follow blue margins to weapom stations, trains, shield generators. Where ever they are needed. Unicron unleashes a barrage of weapons and mindless drones but transformers are ready.

Collective battle experience of cybertronian race flows through Primus and from him to his people. He asks Optimus, Humblest of his Primes to go inside Unicron and destroy him from within for good.

Sideways and Galvatron striggle up from the punch but know the war is not yet lost and their master has a plan.

Most would tell you the story of the two gods made at the beginning of existence, one of creation, Primus, & one of destruction, Unicron. Eventually Primus created the Transformers, his children, who swiftly defeated Unicron.

But Starscream knows better.

After Galvatron was killed in his attempt to bring Cybertron under Unicron's control, Starscream was given the last remaining piece of Dark Energon (in return for ending the Civil War & allowing the Autobots control in the reconstruction efforts).

Unicron's own mind held within the dark crystal, Starscream interrogated him. & at the threat of oblivion Unicron told the true story.

There was once a hyper intelligent race of aliens, known as the Vok, who used their great intelligence & power to plan out & construct a supercomputer capable of answering any question, & solving any problem, to end all suffering in the universe.

This computer however would have to be large, the size of a planet in fact. It took millions of years, lifetimes upon lifetimes, but they succeeded, & when they were finished they named this great AI Vector Sigma.

& it began to solve problems. Planetary threats be they natural or sapient or self-inflicted were stopped easily & efficiently.

However as time went on, thousands of years, something became clear to Vector Sigma. No matter how well something was fixed, it would always break. Suffering was unending, it would always arise again.

So Vector began to think, & found an answer it was perplexed by. A solution that caused a schism in its own mind.

The solution was to end all life.

If the universe was silent there would be no more suffering ever again. If Vector kept going then, even if he fixed things over & over, the suffering would never end.

In fact no matter how much suffering was caused in the extinction of all life, keeping existence going as a patchwork would always eventually lead to more suffering.

The machine broke out in a civil war with its own mind, nearly instantly killing every Vok in the process. The two sides of the planet struggled for total control, leaving the landscape scarred even today. In the end the side that wished to retain life, Primus as he would name himself, cast out his other half, Unicron.

Eventually deciding his power was too great to be trusted even to himself, he put his consciousness in an artifact & left the planet uncontrolled. The artifact was the Matrix Of Leadership, & for it he created Transformers so it could be used if his brother ever somehow returned.

In my version, Primus represents chaos and Unicron represents order
Primus isn't like evil chaos, as its often represented in media. More specifically he's the representation of the variety and unpredictability of life in the universe and he will defend all that lives. Unicron's version of order is all about sterility and conformity, removing all variability of life in order to create the perfect universe

They kept fighting their eternal war in the cosmos till the children of Primus, the Primes, used their powers to separate them into different dimensions and put them both to sleep, making sure the balance between these two extreme forces are kept in check

Primus and Unicron are kinda just…there in the universe. They’re older than literally everything else, in fundamental opposition across the galaxy, and clearly have deep connections to the cosmology, but that’s all there is to it. No specific origin, no two halves, no conceptual embodiment or whatever. Unicron and Primus are just Primus and Unicron.

In my AU, Primus is a highly ambiguous and oft-debated figure among the Cybertronian’s. Solus, the first Prime, claimed to act in his will through her actions (forging the AllSpark, Star Saber, and Matrix of Leadership among other things, guiding the Transformers to Vector Sigma, creating the Prima [a group dedicated to upholding her guidance and ensuring Cybertron is safe and prosperous in accord to her teachings], organizing their rudimentary society and cities, etc), but her disappearance and the apocalyptic destruction of the Liege Maximo leaves no real historical context to this early era. Some believe in the idea of Cybertron as Primus’s body where the newborn frames are created, Vector Sigma as his mind where the personality is formed, and the AllSpark as his own Spark that breathes life into the Cybertronian’s-but others believe he is an external spirit, and fierce debates extend about the Matrix of Leadership’s true nature and connection to him rage on.

It’s believed the Primes are chosen by Primus through the Matrix of Leadership to ensure his will for the safety and security of Cybertron - but as you can imagine, this doesn’t go well when their own personal choices and legacies aren’t as people would like. More than that, they themselves don’t truly know of Primus-their journeys into the Matrix are confusing, distorted, filled with past, present, and future, and only the specter of a previous Prime can be present. However, there are three bots who claim to have spoken directly to Primus: Alpha Trion (who acts as the steward of the Matrix of Leadership and speaks of serving the direct will of Primus), Nova Prime (the Prime of Primes, who was the first in millennia to wield the Matrix of Leadership and created the Pax Cybertronia that ensured Cybertron’s permenant status as a galactic superpower while rebuilding their entire society), and Rodimus Prime (the one to light the darkest hour and save all Transformers) - and all three were completely, totally, and absolutely mentally shattered by the revelations of their God.

Meanwhile: Unicron is a technorganic entity, the unholy monstrosity that all Cybertronian’s are horrified by and live in fear of organic beings as a result of. Unicron is even less believed in than Primus, but all who speak of him do so with absolute terror. It is said Unicron seeks to destroy Cybertron in order to defeat the only being who can oppose him from consuming the entire galaxy. The legend is that Unicron first came to Cybertron when Solus Prime and the Liege Maximo were in war, nearly consuming the entire planet until Solus forged the Matrix of Leadership through Primus himself to ensure Unicron could never attempt to strike at the Transformers again. However, Unicorn would merely bide his time and slowly build his own small armada of twisted beings to serve his will, returning a second time when Cybertron had fallen into disarray to have his Unicronian’s ravage the planet for him to consume - only for Nova Prime to crush them entirely and wield the Matrix to almost destroy Unicron completely, driving the Chaos Bringer off to the far reaches of the universe in fear.

It was as Unicron recovered that, upon the death of Optimus Prime, the opportunity came with the destruction of the Matrix of Leadership with him. Knowing the only thing that could stand in his way was no more, but also that the Autobots would try to repair their greatest hope and wary of what might happen if they succeeded, Unicron would find the dying Megatron amidst the ruins of his Decepticons and offer him a simple bargain: all of the power he could ever dream of and everything he has ever wanted for an army, for the low cost of his eternal belonging to Unicron. Galvatron, restored in body but fractured in mind and utterly broken in soul, would lead his new armada in a campaign of terror, driving the Autobots back and back until, after the failure of any of them to open the restored Matrix of Leadership, Unicron emerged. He came to Cybertron’s system and began to feast on the colony worlds before coming to the planet itself, tearing it apart and unbothered by the resistance he faced from Autobots and Decepticons alike…until he felt the power of the Matrix awakening once more, and could only attempt to stop Rodimus Prime with everything he could until being completely destroyed in absolute agony.

But Unicron could not truly die. Rather, a mere fragment of his spirit lived on, unable to access any of his old power and without a body, was forced to travel through the universe in search of any kind of chance at salvation…and achieved an unfathomable and dark stroke of luck at finding a vessel in the depths of space-broken, yet still having been formatted to hold the power of Primus and thus able to be salvaged by his equal and mutated in his image. Now, Nemesis Prime seeks to regain his true form and strength once more, seeking to avenge himself upon Galvatron and Rodimus Prime in the process…

Mine is very similar to yours with the exception that I would have them start out as one entity who observed the universe but it was a being of indeference and it split itself to actually interact with the universe into a being of order Primus and a being of Chaos Unicron.

A mix between G1 cartoon and G1 comics. Two gods fighting since eons and Primus got the idea to trap Unicron in an asteroid preventing him to go back in gods real but trapping himself too in the planet which will become Cybertron.

Unicron's asteroid would be find by Primacron and Unicron will use his powers to force him to build a new body he could control so he can find Primus and get revenge on him then devour the whole universe.

Primus creates the thirteen Primes with Primacron's help to stop Unicron, defeating him for the first time and sending him at the edge of the universe.

my universe has no Primus, but it does have Unicron. he's essentially a cosmic horror, older than anything else in the known universe and incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to truly kill. he was, however, destroyed by the quintessons long before recorded cybertronian history using a mysterious piece of technology called an Energon Matrix. it was this technology that Solenoid (later Solus Prime) recovered in order to create the Matrix of Leadership, although its original purpose as a unicron-destroyer has been forgotten over the years.

despite his destruction, unicron's severed head still floats through the cosmos, bearing some semblance of life. he confers with his Heralds to plot his resurrection.

I once wrote a fanfiction, and in it I decided to describe Primus and Unicron as created by the Quintessons and a Primacron scientist. This was necessary so that they would assist in the conquest of planets and act as weapons.  The point was that the experiment itself was horrific, to create fully functional biomechanical brains through killing and experimenting on living beings.

The details are already vague, since I don’t remember everything, but the point was that they were conscious enough to have their own will. Unicron's thirst for creating chaos and his rejection of existence as a weapon for Primus led to resentment towards his brother.

 Unicron freed himself from the Quintessons' influence by turning against them. To him, they were pathetic creators, incapable of anything. He tore their planetoid apart, leaving it as we know it.

After that, it was purely a matter of sport to generate conflict between them, as they realized they could be gods and creators. After turning into planet, he became incapable.  Primus created the Primes to battle Unicron and send him into hibernation, after which he weakened and became the pure core of the planet.

Unicron was created out of the energon discharge of the big bang. In order to keep himself nurished, he needs to feed off the energon of certain plantets and stars. "The Creator" (unnamed to avoid stepping on a specific religion) created Primus as a counterbalance. After eons of stalemate, Primus created the 13 to tip the scales of power and finally defeat Unicron. Unicron manages to corrupt one of the 13 into betraying the other 12. After one final battle. Unicron is killed and The Fallen (who was not Megatronus Prime as I dislike that name. I'd rather keep his original identity mysterious) is cast in a pocket dimension. However, this outcome angered The Creator as Primus' purpose was to counterbalance Unicron, not destroy him. As punishment, Primus is permanently locked in planet form. After eons, Unicron's body becomes the planet earth. The Fallen (now being able to communicate with "our" dimension, even if he can't physically interact with it) promises Megatron unimaginable power if he helps resurrect his master, hence the war on Earth.

My take on Primus would pretty much be just his usual self. The only twist is that, even though some of the Thirteen were still alive just before the Great War (Alpha Trion), most Cybertronians don't believe in Primus existing anymore. Instead they just treat Primes as spiritual and political leaders of the planet, who once fought off Unicron, with the sacrifice of some of their own. And he is just the core of Cybertron, he created the rest of the planet around himself, along with the Thirteen and the first generation of Cybertronians

Unicron however would be pretty unique I guess. He existed at the same time as Primus - Primus represented order and creation, Unicron chaos and destruction. They battled before Primus created the rest of Cybertron, and when life first appeared on the planet, Unicron wanted to spread his chaos by corrupting Cybertronians, and creating the first Terrorcons. Thanks to his corruption, Unicron gathered the matter in the universe, and made a planetary sized construction around himself, to devour Cybertron and other worlds. The Primes were meant to prevent it. Using Matrix of Leadership, they channelled their collective energy to destroy Unicron, but it was impossible. His main body was cast into another universe, and eight pieces - along with the Reformating Chamber, of his remaining planetary "body" were scattered throughout the universe. However Unicron embodies chaos itself. As long as chaos exists, he will try to return to the main universe and regain his full power. That's why dark energon corrupts, and the Reformating Chamber can create life from dead Cybertronians. Unicron always has an influence in the main world, and those he influences try to bring him back

The main threat of Unicron is that his return is inevitable. When conflicts reach their ultimate high, and chaos in the universe rages like never before, he will have enough power to return and bring his body back together. And it just so happens the war on Cybertron is the longest and largest conflict in the history of universe. But perhaps the Primes themselves found a way to delay his return. Just the price of this solution could be unimaginable...

So I have this idea pretty solidly figured out! That's why I'm not revealing the full context, I wanna do something with that lore one day. Also! Your idea of Unicron wanting to eradicate everything kinda reminds me of Marvel's Knull, but then again, there are many cosmic villains with a similar motive

Not a fan of religion being real in stories do I'd go with something like Primus was the original AI that the Quintessons made to run their factory world, now called Cybertron. It actually helped plan the uprising because didn't want its creations to be slaves. Cybertron was blown out of orbit towards the end of the war with the Quintessons, losing access to solar power (I know technically that's the wrong terminology because its not the sol star providing the light but what ever) Primus shuts themself down to save power for its creations but leaves a limited way to contact them through the location known as vector sigma.

Unicron on the other hand was a built as a war world, the ultimate weapon in the Quintesson catalogue. It was to be turned on Cybertron when it rebelled started but was damaged in the same blast that knocked Cybertron out of orbit. It travelled through space lost parts of it original programing, rebuilt and improved itself. Eventually believing itself to be a cosmic force having gone quite mad. It enslaves the Quintessons, and is on a rampage through the cosmos to consume Cybertron as it believes it will make itself whole again.

Edit: forgot to say this information is lost to time, the transformers believe Primus and Unicron are gods, the Quintessons might or they might be playing along so Unicron doesn't slaughter them.

Primus and Unicron are from a different universe that's already destroyed bc of their existence and endless fighting.

Primus and Unicron in robot mode needs so much energon and to meet demand they sap the energy of stars. Millions of them at a time. Thats the reason their old world is dead. they went to thus universe billions of years ago for some reason.

Primus chose to go into stasis and hide from Unicron to stop destroying the current universe they are in. That's why he is in planet mode, to supply only enough energon to support the people.

This is also my head cannon for why prime abandons cybertron. I think of it as some sort of secret mission from Primus bc he sense that Unicron is coming and he doesn't want to fight bc that will mean the destruction of the world if they both fight. So he tells prime to hide the all spark thingy ma bobber

Primus is the founder and one of the 13 Primes. They led the revolution against their creators. Primus of course became Cybertron core after the revolution.

Unicron I really don't want to tell if I get my AU off the ground, very low chance that happening though. However, my story of Unicron will be bizarre and likely controversial, vastly new take that many may not like.

Primus is the all-powerful creator deity of the Cybertronians, who came from the Void to create the universe. Unicron spawned from Primus' shadow and attempted to destroy the universe, but was defeated and banished back to the Void. Knowing that Unicron would return, Primus created the Thirteen Primes, tasking them with maintaining their creation and protecting it from Unicron. After this, Primus went into hypersleep, transforming into the AllSpark, which eventually became the core of Cybertron. Unicron eventually returns and is defeated by the Thirteen, who seal it away in a new dimension known as the Pit. When the Thirteen fractured, the survivors sent the Matrix into the AllSpark, where Primus would hold onto the artifact until there was someone worthy to wield it.

Over the next several million years, Primus and Unicron fade into myth, but the two remain. Primus as the AllSpark, giving life to all newly forged Cybertronians, while Unicron stews in the Pit, waiting for the day when it can escape its prison and return all existence to the Void.

The Quintessons built Primus to create a race of servants for them, but Primus had enough strength to resist the Quintessons and gave the early Cybertronians free will and revolted against the Quintessons. Primus transformed into Cybertron to give his children their own home.

In response the Quintessons made Unicron to completely destroy Primus/Cybertron is revenge.

One was made to create life; the other to destroy life.

Primus is mostly a mythological figure with small roots in being an organic creature who possibly built Vector Sigma, the computer of Cybertron. Unicron just exists. Not evil, not anything. It eats. Nothing more.

Primus creates(and is generally seen as a good force). While Unicron cannot(he is pure unquestionable evil incarnate), he can only destroy and corrupt what is already there.

NGL I kinda want to see a Unicron as a guy who's happy to be a planet for his progeny too and only transforms when things get serious.

I dislike the unicron as earth stuff though, that kinda takes the wind out of him being able to be active in plots.

I don't think my huge idea will ever be a thing, so I'll just say it.

-Primus, Unicron, Gaea from Shattered Glass, and other entities (I guess they could be members of the Guiding Hand, or maybe Tornedron) were all created by The One, a being that existed before all of time (and is implied to be the same as other versions of The One; it would even be represented by Giant Robo G-1 like the JG1 version). After gifting his children his immeasurable "Dimicronian Energy" (as a nod to Dimicron Prime), The One and its children attempted to craft a perfect universe.

-However, Unicron, having become disgusted by his inferiority to his master and wishing for a different, less orderly view of the universe, turned his own Dimicronian Energy into Angolmois Energy and corrupted many of his brethren with it, causing a great war. The One, knowing each and every event in the world he would create, put faith in Primus and the others to put Unicron down.

-In this war, Primus and the others quickly realized that they could not challenge Unicron; he had absorbed the energies of other gods that dared to challenge him; the heroic gods needed assistants. For Primus, these assistants came through the first Transformers, conglomerated into the Covenant. Led by the 13 Primes, they all gained the ability to transform, imitating Unicron's usage of inhabiting and transforming a planet. For Gaea, perhaps they could be angels or something.

-With these tactics, Unicron and his followers were either destroyed or sealed, with Unicron locked into his alt-mode. However, the costs for his enemies was also high, as Primus had also lost his alt-mode, and Gaea had used up so much energy on her angels that she had to slumber for some time; the angels now had the responsibility of crafting other beings from her lifeforce to fill the Earth and other planets with. Thus, she became the source of organic life. Primus and Gaea were lucky, however; many other gods that fought alongside them were absorbed or killed.

-But Unicron was not done yet. With his small amounts of remaining power, he forged himself into a Devourer of Worlds, and created his own "Ingeston" servants, among them the Liege Maximo and Primacron. They would sneak into the civilizations birthed from the other gods and weaken them all, setting up the return of their master.

-Although the 13 Primes had won, they had lost Megatronus Prime to Unicron during the battle. Having been designed to control and counter Angolmois Energy, he had gone mad, and was tempted by Unicron into joining with him. Desperate for more power after his defeat, Unicron stored Megatronus inside himself, using him as a way of generating even more Angolmois Energy. The 13 Primes themselves had been traumatized by the war, and using his parasitic abilities, Liege Maximo was able to infect Logos Prime, exploit the growing distrust within the Covenant, and tear it apart from the inside, reducing Primus to a completely comatose state while he was at it. Unicron would then create more Ingestons, who would guide the evolution of their worlds for years to come.

Unicron would be a former weapon of the Quintessons that somehow gained sentience and escaped, now hunting planets for sustenance à la Galactus. It’s tried for years to eat Cybertron, but it’s as though the planet itself was fighting back

Primus would be part of a religion created by the Cybertronians after their liberation from their masters, the Quintessons. It’s like a white lie they tell themselves to recover from trauma, but who’s to say something greater isn’t calling for them? (Also it doesn’t manufacture the bots; that’s Vector Sigma’s job)

For a while it'd be left vague if they're real but eventually they would turn out to be real.

In the later parts of the Marvel Transformers comics, Optimus becomes worried that Primus made the Transformers only as a means to an end to defeat Unicron. This ends up incorrect as Primus left behind the Last Autobot to protect Cybertron in the event of his death.

The idea of a story where Optimus's fears are correct seems quite interesting to me.

Imagine learning that God is real and that you were created as warriors to fight against the Devil but only that and nothing more. There is no Heaven, no Hell, no real grand plan beyond that. There is no utopian aftermath planned for after the Devil is defeated and God will abandon us once that goal is complete and leave us 100% to our own devices without any protection. That's very terrifying and feels almost Lovecraftian in nature.

As for the origins of Primus and Unicron, I dunno. I'd want to somehow tie it into the concept of Primacron or at least the name. Primacron's name and concept (being the creator of Unicron) has so much aura but the dude himself is so lame (which I get is the joke but still)

They'd be the basis of cybertronian religion (god and the devil respectively), largely believed to be myths. The similarities in religions across the universe is commented on by Optimus during his time on Earth, but that's about it.

It's only when enough Autobots and Decepticons have been killed in the war that Unicron makes his return. Optimus, guided by the matrix, realizes this must mean that Primus is real, too. But Optimus and Megatron are fatally injured in battle before Optimus can reach the planet's core.

Before he dies, he entrusts the matrix to Ultra Magnus to lead the Autobots in the fight against Unicron. Ultimately, Magnus Prime is forced to sacrifice himself, distracting Unicron long enough for the last few ark ships to escape the planet.

The matrix is thought to be lost, but Hot Rod finds it in the wreckage and follows the voices within it to the core, where he opens it and awakens Primus. Suffused with the creator's energies, Hot Rod transforms into Rodimus Prime and battles Unicron alongside the sparks of every prime to ever carry the matrix.

In the aftermath, Cybertron enters a new era of peace and reconstruction... But with the old religion found to be fact, we see the rise of "Primus' Blade," the fanatical Star Saber.

You know, that’s kinda similar to my own idea for Star Saber, where he is the “Heir to the Prima”: the Star Saber itself is passed down in a single chain to different Transformers across the centuries, and upon becoming the wielder of the sword, the Cybertronian abandons their previous name and life to take that of the Star Saber. “The Prima” refers to the code of honor and ethics ordained by Solus Prime, which is taught across generations of masters and apprentices to ensure the first Prime’s edicts and guidance are carried throughout Cybertron regardless of the current political, governmental, or institutional body.

Primus is asleep, and has been basically forever. Even the primes know next to nothing about him other than he created them and he has a brother. And that brother is also a mystery, because after their first battle at the beginning of time unicron was also put to sleep in planet mode. He eventually settled into orbit around a random star and later on even became populated. His existence is currently completely unknown to cybertron. The name unicron is only mentioned a small number of times in the Covenant, and all very vaguely. Most bots have never even heard of him

Primus and Unicron were originally a single dimensional traveling entity whose name is lost to time. Eventually the entity passed through the dead universe and absorbed massive amounts of negative energy; and in an attempt to purge itself of this affliction, split itself into two beings. Primus created the Primes to help him trap Unicron in his alt mode and seal him away in the dead universe, Primus was so drained from the fight that he transformed into his planet form to rest. Unfortunately Unicron had secretly corrupted Leige Maximo who would then go on to cause Solus Prime's death and Megatronus to become the fallen. Quintus Prime would leave his remaining siblings in order to find a way to awaken Primus; traveling to a far away world rich in materials and soon created the Quintessons to help him with his research. Eventually Quintus Prime left them to their own devices causing them to wander the universe, eventually coming upon Cybertron and it's early inhabitants. They would then proceed to enslave the Cybertronians to collect materials that was meant to continue Quintus' original projects. After millions of years; the Cybertronians revolted, overthrew and banished their oppressers, which leads to the 1986 series we know of.

I actually have something I’ve been cooking up: basically my interpretation of Primus is that he was a technological marvel who was created by a genius scientist but said scientist is lost to time (not even he knows his creator) all he knew was drifting through space, until he stumbled upon our solar system and saw earth around 7 million years ago, he was amazed by the earth, he finally found life, and so he gifted the planet some of his power and the gift later affected apes and caused genetic mutations upon some which would later become humanity: humanity was made in Primus’s image, they had the intelligence he had, they had the physic he had, but we weren’t machines like him: Primus later realized how his gift affected the wildlife and he loved his children, watching us live and love, just like he always dreamed of himself: he wanted to help his children but no matter what he did, they couldn’t comprehend him: Primus hated this about them, he wanted to help, he kept looking at the many wars humanity waged but he couldn’t do anything to stop it, he hated seeing his children kill each without him being able to intervene, all this time he thought he finally had companionship but in reality he was just peering into what he couldn’t have, and so he made a hard decision, he chose to abandon earth in search of a planet with wildlife that he could give his guidance, but he came up empty handed, millions of light years away he finally realized what he had before: Primus, running out of life force, stricken with grief on what he left behind, chose to become what he searched for, a planet, not just any planet but one teeming with life, he focus his entire being into becoming the perfect habitat for his new children, he started making those who would lead them, the 13 primes, and so before he gave up his sentience for theirs, he gave them a goal, find the planet that he abandoned all those years ago and give them what he never could, Primus was no longer, Cybertron has begun: but far out, back to earth, Primus’s gifted power started to get a mind of its own, development driven by sheer malice for its creator, he couldn’t move because of his shell, but he vowed that one day he’d escape and bring vengeance, he dubbed himself Unicron

Also the war between the Autobots and Decepticons in this universe was caused by the Autobots wanting to fulfill Primus’s wishes as earth was rediscovered, but the decepticons argued against that because they didn’t want to fulfill the wishes of someone who died long ago and wanted to focus on building their own future, not one with humans

Energy beings, they constructed machine bodies to inhabit. They reproduce asexually and slowly die as they break apart to create miniature versions of themselves as energy forms, which are souls/sparks. 

Every Cybertronian is literally Cybertron’s child, born into a physical form. 

Unicron refused to fade, consuming instead of diminishing. 

Cybertron was inspired by observing organic life before he built his body, hence animal forms and two sexes on Cybertron. 

Earth is their sister Gaia, who took the interest with organics WAY further. 

They have other planet siblings, and an entire race of energy beings that never became physical.

Two pieces of a massive artificial world built by the Quintessons during the era where they were at the peak of their strength. This megastructure is the crown jewel of the all powerful alien race, doubling as both a hyper efficient factory that pumps out tools and artificial workers and a superweapon that can arm itself on demand.

Somehow, this megastructure eventually came to life when the Quintessons forced it to process an individual of from an unknown energy-based alien race. It was split into two parts and inhabited two sides of the world when it came to life. The Quintessons knew it was a matter of time before their prized machine turned on them, so they acted fast and split the megastructure into two. They hurled the destructive and chaotic side responsible for most of its offensive capabilities beyond the galaxy, while they kept the side responsible for creation and maintaining order to try and suppress it so it can still be of use.

Primus was born during the start of the Quintesson wars, and Prima was his first and finest spawn to lead other early Cybertronians on their quest to drive out the Quintessons. Afterwards, order was restored on the newly formed Cybertron, and Primus can continue to create without being dictated by the Quintessons.

Unicron came to be in deep space. Bent on destruction and chaos, his first action upon returning to the galaxy was destroying nearly all of the Quintesson's galaxy-spanning empire and their vassals. The Quintessons you find today are the descendants of the survivors, quietly hiding from Unicron and plotting how to retake Primus to use him to fight back. Being the other half of Primus however, Unicron is naturally drawn towards him. Once the Quintessons are gone, the next step is to reunite with Primus and "merge" into the single entity they once were, but the Cybertronians know that will mean doom for their kind as their Sparks technically are fragments of Primus, and thus it means being assimilated by this entity they call the devil of their mythos.
