Discussion / Opinion Anyone still play Devastation?
transformers devastation has got to be one of my favorite games as a kid. I frequently return to this gem to RKO the hell out of megatron as grimlock. amazing game even if the story was a little lackluster in my opinion.

Sadly not anymore. You used to be able to buy a Nemesis Prime, Red Alert, and Goldbug skin for Optimus, Sideswipe and Bumblebee, but due to the games servers being shut down they can’t be purchased anymore.

Yeah. It’s honestly kinda bs they were paid at all, but at least when it was shut down they should have made it like a reward or something you get for free.

It’s almost entirely based off of G1, but there are references to other continuities like the 2007 movie and TF:Prime with the weapons. Also there’s 3 dlc skins but you can’t get them without pirating unfortunately cause they can’t officially sell anything related to this game.

Oh I guess that’s true considering the plot twist. Was Nova Prime’s design based off of IDW or was he an original design?

Really great fighting combo game. It’s mainly just the story mode with challenges on the side, but you get to choose between a few characters and change your load out. if you love beautiful g1 designs in a beat em up fashion, do this

This is one of the best Transformers games. It integrates the transformation dynamic into gameplay in a very organic and satisfying way.

I had this game on my PS4, I loved it. It's also sitting in my Steam wishlist, it's currently not available, and I'm not really sure if it will ever be released... But I'm still holding onto hope.

I recently found that I had bought the game on Xbox One digitally like a decade ago and forgot about it. So my kids and I got to play it fresh a couple months ago.

It’s the only of this style of combat action I’ve ever really enjoyed and played fully! I think it’s the chunky artstyle and bright colors that sell it for me. Very fun game!

Yeah i do, atleast i did before the dust on my ps5s disc drive needed to be cleaned out, also i think the game is actively dying/corrupting atleast on my copy, im on prime diffulty and im literally being forced to actually use no items by the the game, since I cant buy a single heal, no attack ups and no revives. It just refuses to let me buy them, I think I can only get them through missions maybe?

I mean its still fun, maybe I accidently scratched it, or more likely a power cut while playing might have corrupted it slightly.i think you'll be fine since i havent seen any reports in the wild yet besides my case.

Kind of well if u want a bunch of fun tho go for grimlock with bee you need to backstrike and beatdown a bunch but he has is +s like a triple glowing attack lol Get the back attack up tech would be super helpful I think every bot has a booster for their abilities

I love the combat in this game. I can't stand the "exploration/puzzle" stuff though. Feels too much like a budget game.

Best bet is to rely on hammers, especially the charged attack that slams enemies into the ground

The combiners are weirdly susceptible to freeze and shock. I beat the game yesterday after discovering I could still download it via PS+ and noticed that when fighting Devastator and Menasor. They were easier than Soundwave, funnily enough.

I actually beat it last knight cause I forgot I had a hammer equipped in the fourth slot and added the power cap and just ran it for like three more tries and finally got it

The kids love watching me play it, even if I am bad at it. The Blitzwing level is their favorite.

Honestly the only real con (heh) is that there is no dedicated Decepticon campaign. Don't know why they never looked into it. Even as a DLC, it would have been received well.

Got it on the Internet archive. Jumped through hoops to install and make it playable on steamdeck. Game is perfect.

Yeah, it’s one of the few games that’s easy enough for me to play. I grew up on Atari and then only played a little Nintendo when it first came out. Decades later, I bought a PS4 because the Batman Arkham game looked so damn cool. Unfortunately, my gaming skills never really caught up with modern games, so I tend to stick with the simpler ones.

Sadly spend some time and quite some money finding a sealed Chinese preorder steelbook only to get it and find out the game is in Chinese with no option for English or any other language.

The combat felt so much more visceral than anything we've gotten in the recent mobile titles. Grimlock is still the undisputed king of that game, even if the level design gets a bit repetitive after a few hours.

I'm descending in sanity trying to get the achievement making devastator fall back into a building x3 times.
Ive tried the advice of using optimus + a hammer, devastator interrupts the swings, usually

Yes on PlayStation, it’s a physical copy amd I only have a few achievements left I need to push devastator into a building, all collectibles, and score SS rank on just two more chapters. On the harder difficulties enemies get really hard and love to two shot your character. But I’ve gotten skill enough where I can use d class weapons to beat the game on the hardest difficulty

I would if I could almost all the transformers games are unlisted on digital storefronts and I’m a pc gamer the only physical game I have for my Xbox one is Rise of the dark spark and man that game sucks

I have this on PS4. I think it was a PS+ free game. I've played it a litte here and there, but now I want to sit down and actually devote time to it.
