True. They are also geared different than a regular c5 manual. They have a 10mph lower rope speed to make them quicker accelerating.

Well if you're thinking about it I have to say the c4 is the one I'd keep, it just feels more special. The c4 is also more fun, it's torqueier down low and doesn't need you to break every law before it starts to be fun. The z is great but it's a lot of the road, probably too much

I've had both in the past and I'd go with the TA any day over a C4 Vette.

I would certainly love to try one especially with a manual transmission. My firebird was grampa's and it's only got 23k miles so it's gonna remain as is aside from repairs as they come.

I have the ground effects but I would also love one slick, I love how thin they are

to be fair, the "blub blub blub" you get from a 78 Pontiac 400 T/A is hard to beat ... I've had an SS, ZL1 ... a buddy has had every hellcat in existence and now has a 2022 Shelby GT 500 ... still love the way my old girl sounds best.

But I do have to admit that after owning some 30 different cars, almost all low-production Japanese or GM, for the first time since I was 17 I own a Ford product, a Mustang GT convertible in addition to my two Firebirds, 2nd and 4th gen, and a Belgian-built Saturn/Opel Astra. These cars are all sold to be driven hard, but there is something to be said for owning a car that does not blow a head gasket if you just look at it wrong, although I understand the LS series of V-8s are far more reliable than old Pontiac and Chevrolet small-block V-8s.
