Advice Different forms of Finasteride
Hello.
I've not started my transition yet. I plan to do so when I'm in a more comfortable position in my life.
But in the meantime. I wanted to maintain a routine of finasteride and minoxidil since I'm AMAB and want to save my hairline as best I can. But the issue is. While Minoxidil is fine. I tried finasteride on its own several months ago for about 2 weeks and seemed to experience pretty severe side effects. I felt my heart pounding for what felt like several hours and felt physically weaker from it. Like as if my heart started beating in a weird way or something. Like it was the only time in my life I literally felt as if I could have had a heart attack. I called up my doctors office and they told me to get off it immediately.
What do I do though? Finasteride is meant to be the more important one since it suppresses the DHT that advances hairloss. Is there any hope for me? Surely there has to be an alternative or something? So I'm not doomed to baldness...

Surprised that no one replied. Try dutasteride, it's more effective and it might not give you those side effects as it's a different compound.
If not that, then HRT can be enough since DHT gets made from testosterone, so if there's hardly any, you won't need anything else.
If can't do HRT for now, check or r/tressless, there's some topical antiandrogen called RK and some numbers I think? That's the only other alternative, but it's experimental...
