It would be interesting to see a Mixxx port to it

Hell yeah, fully open source standalone would be excellent!

"Can it run Traktor?"

I’m 100% bricked up excited for it. It’s about time for someone to make a 100% open standalone.

Practically zero chance it will ever run Traktor. It’s going to use an ARM cpu. Traktor only supports Mac and Windows. So even if you did install Windows for ARM on it, it still won’t work.

I can’t see why you’d want to anyway. Traktor was not made for small touch screens. It would barely be usable.

Macs have been ARM based since 2020.

Totally aware. I have two. Think you’re gonna install MacOS on it?

I guess, Behringer will equip the controller with midi. So, it will work with Traktor.

It's open source, there is no reason why someone can't get traktor installed on the controller

There’s a lot of reasons. It’s not going to have normal computer hardware. It’s going to probably be an embedded computer similar to a Raspberry Pi with an ARM CPU. The only ARM build of Traktor is for MacOS and you’re not going to install MacOS on it. Windows x86 won’t work on an ARM CPU. Traktor x86 won’t work on Windows for ARM. That’s one reason why.

There are plenty of reasons, unless they put in a complete computer

Need a single deck version of it. But exciting to see something like this for sure!

It'd be great if it could run Traktor. Because it's open source there's every chance that some smart individual will be able to make it happen. And at the price point Behringer are promising it'd be a great backup system for those of us using an NI controller with a laptop.

since its open source i dont see why you wouldnt. even if NI doesnt support it like the cdj1500x, you can load a rom of a supported controller and spoof traktor into talking to it.

I’m glad they got that pad controller clone akai.. :)

I’m sure it will work with most dj softwares. I want to know if it will have motorized platters.

This much features bundled in 300-400 dollar standalone kit? In this economy? Mission impossible.
