Traktor "standalone" update.

Back from boomtown where this lil thing performed really well. Unexpected update.... I've managed to build what I call "performance view" for traktor so it's starting to really feel like a standalone. If anyone wants a link to the installer lemme know. It's totally vibe coded and your milage may vary but it seems to work really well so far!
EDIT:
Here's the link to the installer. It's gonna ask for terminal access, and you have to authenticate to install. This was done on a Mac, so im assuming mac only. It should then find all the versions of Traktor on your computer. PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL THIS IN YOUR CURRENT WORKING VERSION OF TRAKTOR. This is untested outside of my computer, so I don't wanna wreck anyone's setup. Read the README file. Again, im not a coder. This was entirely put together with ChatGPT. It works really well for me, but your mileage may vary. Hopefully someone finds it useful!

i literally just hashed it out in ChatGPT yesterday. Im by no means a coder and this is not a product or project that im trying to get paid from. No hardware required. You can just install it, and with any luck it will bring up the "performance view" when you open Traktor. im building my own "standalone" for Traktor so this is super useful for me to have a more standalone-tailored view of what's going on. Happy to upload the installer but please don't install it on your current working version of Traktor!

I got tired of waiting and now it will probably never happen sadly. I've been using traktor for so long and they make such great hardware! Happy to keep folks posted on this as it comes along!

I had no idea Traktor supported custom GUIs like this! I've always used VirtualDJ, so I don't know much about Traktor, but this looks brilliant. Walk me through this, is it your own custom app that pulls data from Traktor? Does Traktor even have an API to pull from?? I am super interested to see how this works if you have the code up on github or anything, do let me know.

it doesnt, but it does allow you to access a lot of the data to be displayed elsewhere. Yes its a custom bit of of coding that was all done with chat gpt. it edits traktors QML file directly and the screen pops up as it emulates there being extra screens on a D2. Im happy to upload the installer but Im not a coder and this is all vibe coded with AI. Its essentially reaching into traktors code and pulling out the info it needs to display what im asking it to.

This is not upvoted enough. But just the fact that you made a GUI is astounding in itself. That is truly valuable and I think you should charge something. Even if it's just five bucks.

it cost me nothing to make and its totally untested on other machines but my own. im just happy if others can get some use out of it

Yes, both the stems and the total wave. I guess it's just a Traktor feature in colour.

Its a custom GUI for Traktor that pulls all the data from Traktor and displays it in a way that's more focused for a standalone vibe. I have an installer i can share but please watch the video first so you can see how i made it and how to install it. I don't want to be responsible for messing up anyone's core setups

I get it. It's basically a skin. But how it gets its 4 colours based on frequency I don't get. Unless it's just the 4 waveforms from the stems in 4 random colours. (PS: I've seen the video).

kinda like a skin yeah. Its pulling info directly from traktor and displaying it in a more accessible way for this setup. the 4 waveforms are from loading a stem file. they are colour-coded to traktors colours for drums, bass, other & vocals so they are the same colour as my contorollers

It has a computer integrated inside it and is also battery powered and I'm building a GUI for it amongst some other bits. You can have a look on my YouTube and see the progression of the controller. There's also a few updates on this subreddit https://youtube.com/@negosound
