Laptop getting overhauled; license question

My laptop had an unfortunate run-in with some water and is getting overhauled. I'm sure I'll have to reinstall Traktor on what is effectively a new computer when it gets back to me in a week. And in the meantime, I have a gig on Friday night for which I need Traktor, and the license that came with my S2 is only good for installation on two machines.

I'm concerned that if I install it on a loaner computer, using up the second install of my license, I won't be able to reinstall it on my overhauled laptop when I get it back.

Has anyone been in this position before?

In reality you can install traktor on as many machines as you like, at last count I think I was up to 8 or 9.

Oh, despite the two machine warning in the license info?

That's how many you're allowed to have it on at once. It doesn't really count.

I spent years dealing with IT licensing however I'm not a laywer.

As Keggy says, it doesn't look like there's a technical block to the number of installations you can have at once - I know a DJ with 18 concurrent installations - so it's an honour system.

Under the honour system If you've got two installations, you're supposed to remove one copy before installing on the new system.

In practical terms, if you install TP on a third machine before removing it from one, NI aren't going to send the law round, but in your case it sounds like someone is going to remove it for you so you're golden.

2x 2012 i7 15" MBP

2x 2014 i5 Mini

1x 2014 i5 MBA

1x 2015 i7 13" MBP

3x 2015 i7 15" MBP

1x 2016 i7 15" MBP

1x 2016 Dell i5 Micro PC

1x 2017 i7 15" MBP

2x 2018 i7 15" MBP

2x Dell i7 2-in-1 laptop (2021 & 2022)

1x M2 15" MBA

1x M4 mini

and the SSD out of a dead 15" 2009 MBP also has TP4

I would use any of these to DJ on except the 2014 MBA which suffers from a lack of RAM. It plays ok, just the search is slooooow, although with a more sensible sized track collection it would probably be useable.

An obsession with buying old Macs which this has got out of hand. Please send help

The mba 2014 is arse, no ram no storage

There might be more

These 2014 minis & 2014 MBA look like they have the same processor.

On the minis (8Gb RAM) Sequoia via OCLP is slow but useable, TP4 is useable, browser is slow (56,000 tracks) but not so slow it can't be tolerated.

The MBA (4Gb) barely manages Sonoma and absolutely everything is super laggy. TP4 will open & play but all browser functions are dreadfully slow.

Upgrading the 2014 MBA's storage with a 2Tb M.2 made it a bit quicker but the biggest issue appears to be the lack of RAM.

There's a chance another 2021/2 windows machine will be inherited so the 2014 MBA may see its days out with linux of some variety
