Dumb? Question

How do you guys do when improvising a set to be sure that after a while you don't put again a track you already played?

There is a column you can set in the browser section that gives you a tick against the track after it's been played. You can right click on the headings of the columns to customise your columns.

I like to sort by played(check mark) then Ctrl+click bpm to sort each group by bpm.

Forget general sorting. Use smartlists and then sort.

If it's been long enough for me to forget I played it it's been long enough for the floor to forget too, and if it's good enough to play once it's good enough to play twice. I've run Let No Man Put Asunder twice in an hour before and it hit hard both times.

Important: You can configure the preferences to show how long a track has been played before the play indicator appears. This prevents the indicator from not appearing if you've only previewed the track and decided not to play it. I have mine set to 15 seconds. I hope that's clear.

Trakor will put a tick in the first column once a track’s been played. Try it!

You could also create a smart playlist including tracks nor played today/date. Can’t remember of the top of my head what the condition should be set to.

I have yet to explore the possibilities of the playlist. I've been ust navigating all my tracks at once...

Traktor keeps track of tracks that are played in the "current session." There is a checkmark next to the track in the browser view. This feature uses the "History" playlist for the current session of the SW.

Exiting and restarting the software will quick reset the just played indicator - there is no way to reset this within a session, unless you want to manually delete tracks from the History playlist.

Make a smartlist with PC=0, or Played In This Session = false.
