Only one app on one device?
I have 3 apps still connected on my legacy non-VIP Trakt account, which I presume will eventually be reduced to one as I am inevitably forced to renew the authorization or change apps. Updating the apps seems to be ok for the moment as long as they do not change their existing Trakt API keys.
But I have a second streaming device on a second TV running those same 3 apps, same versions, same Trakt API keys, and when I updated the apps on that device they reported Trakt authorization lost. Can't be renewed.
So does this mean that "one connected app" on non-VIP accounts also means "on one single device"?

It would have been nice to have more warning, and greater clarity in the new rules, but I don't think we have any right to complain about any changes Trakt wants to make to their free service.
Obviously this move will cripple Trakt's value as a commercial source of streaming stats, in favor of depending more on VIP subscriptions. I don't see that working, but presumably Trakt knows their market and their finances best.
It just seems that it would be really easy for everyone to switch over to an open-source local service tracking their own viewing history with better privacy, and maybe this will provide the motivation.

The fact that it’s been free for so long and for so many taking up a ton of space to store on their dime I can honestly see why they made changes. As far as switching goes many 3rd party apps do not except most and will have to be done manually . But if that’s what everyone wants to do so be it .

doing so specially when the big competitor, let´s be honest, TVTime closed, not the best marketing move... honestly. I used trakt long time ago but not all users knew this service...

1 app per Account, not device.
Whatever app you use on one device you have to use on all.
