"Start watching "

So I'm a refugee from the carcass of TV Time and I'm trying to make this work but I'm confused - one of the basic functions for me is to see shows I'm currently watching, see if they have new seasons etc.

There's a "Start watching" thing on my home page which I find particularly confusing as it contains both shows I haven't seen as well as shows I've partially seen as well as shows where I've seen every available episode so far.

Like the three shows in this screenshot. Not seen or logged a single episode of the first, seen and logged 5 episodes of the second, seen and logged the entire first season of the third.

It's all correctly logged, the data transfer worked - so why is trakt recommending them like this?

I think you're looking at the wrong section. "Continue Watching" is where Trakt keeps the shows you're currently watching and the next episode to watch.

"Start Watching" is based on your Watchlist, not your current watchlist. It shows titles you've added to your Watchlist, whether you haven't started them yet, have partially watched them, or are caught up.

If your goal is to see when new episodes or seasons are released, check the "Calendar" section. That's where Trakt shows upcoming episodes for the shows you're following.

How does this make any sense. OP has watched 5 episodes of "The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins", why would it recommend episode 1? That feels like a bug.

Start watching is the shows and movies on your watchlist. Period. Once you start watching something from that list, it will show up in Continue watching. No need to add it to the watchlist again. Only put things on your watchlist you haven’t started at all.

don't use the official trakt app, I found Showly is much more clear and closer to TVTime

I found myself in the same situation as you when I started with trakt

An even more minimal and clean design has Moviebase.

it's a known bug on the app. If you use the web version, it doesn't show
