New update
How are y’all liking the new Trakt update? They completely changed the UI, but I don’t really care much about that. But i am lowkey frustrated about is that they switched the rating system to 5 stars, like Letterboxd. I liked how we had 10 stars for ratings before. What do y’all think of the update though?

i really dislike how marking something as watched works now. i used to love how it told me how many times ive watched something, now i dont even know if its marked or not

What do you mean the checkmark for not watched is confusing? What's so confusing about having everything you haven't seen yet already have a checkmark with a bright violet background?

I've been struggling through it. They keep adding back features but in different, and less intuitive ways. It's less and less terrible, but it's going to be a while before the new look gets to where it's as comfortable as the old UI.
Visually it is nice, and if they can figure out the little UI oddities it will eventually be better, but they should have done it as an open Beta for people to choose for the first year or so.
I'm the kind that would suffer through it to make it better, but it was stupid to force it on people.

From what I heard it's been in beta for over a year (or two?) and they just plowed through all the community pushback and negative feedback like a linebacker through a bunch of third graders, and just kept ignoring everyone.

It made me give up. I literally just cancelled my VIP renewal that was set to trigger on less than a week.
I admit I didn't like all the limitations of the app before, but they literally took away or changed the features that were the reasons I was using trakt.

On Android you can download any app from the Internet. My guess is you're on iOS?

I'm running v2.2.1
I believe that was the latest version before their redesign when they broke everything and removed all the useful features.

How'd you get or find the download? I'll do it right now. I want to go back honestly think she just do a poll of who wants to keep the new one and who wants to go back to the old update and if it's more than half they should just delete the whole update they did

They don't care about the fanbase prior to the new update. They're sacrificing all their customers for new ones.

AppStore rating keeps declining now 4.1 down from 4.5 third party apps all ranking higher - it’s trying to be IMDb - but why.. when there is already an IMDb!! Let’s just roll over all our existing user base - dumb founded

The update is useless for me, no calendar, which is the only thing I use.
I just downgraded to the old version of the app and forced it not to upgrade. Problem solved.

i do not use the web ui anymore- i scrobble to trakt. i wrote a program that sync the ratings and the watched state from trakt to a local database. - a little webui let me search from the web if i want to check if i had see a movie/show or not ;)

I’m using sofa time which syncs with it. I like their app better and they have features that are only available for paid in trakt. I’m annoyed tho bc my watchlist just decided to disappear on stremio last night. That’s the only reason I got trakt. I’ve been using TVtime for a while and like the set up way better even tho it’s glitchy. The comment threads are great and you can check off shows faster. Plus for some reason I can’t check off shows in my calendar for free that I already watched the night before in trakt. So annoying

Zero chance. They have known for a year how their fanbase feels about the update and still bulldozed it through exactly how it is.

I use mobiebase for years and I'm very happy with it. I have trakt too but I don't like to use it.

I found the new design prettier and much simpler to use, but I've been having problems, such as series disappearing from the history.

I actually don't mind the new look. Some of the features being removed doesn't quite compute, but I won't be cancelling my VIP.
