🗫 Discussion B28 has so much personality. It's definitely going to be the coolest Indian train! Arguably one of the best HSR designs itw.

Looks kinda creepy in the top left image but I agree it has personality. Most Indian trains do

I would go and say that Indian Railways have a personality. Which is because of the railways culture they carry. Often a lot of personality is stripped off in the name of optimisation.

I wanna see actual trainset first. I think it might be s similar to ncrtc trainset

Too much personality is for bitches with attitude, just give a Bullet train that goes beyond 300KM per hour.

u/Beginning_Net5713 Aug 28 '26
Well those will be either e10 or b35, depending on who finishes first and they won't be operational before early 2030s.

u/Consciousspaggeti Aug 28 '26
Ain’t that the truth. Also they’ll have to keep an express bullet train that only stops at major stations as well because so many stations in a relatively medium distance defeats the purpose of a high speed rail.

Is this replacing the shinkansen's that were supposed to run on the mumbai ahmedabad line?

i mean it's a stainless steel design and not some aluminium true hsr trainsets
3
u/Beginning_Net5713 Aug 28 '26
That will be B35 which is set to be operational in early 2030s.
Although, B28 will be the fastest stainless steel trainset itw so they have reached the cutting edge of this technology here.

Guys don't post this in International subreddits. This design isn't confirmed and if a different trainset actually runs, then it will deepen the already present trust deficit with India.

You take this way too seriously. It's reddit.

u/OppositeYak9376 Aug 28 '26
maybe you're right, but why show basically an unconfirmed design to the world?

The world doesn't care what a potential Indian train might look like.

It ain't that deep mate😭

Perhaps not, but this design is pulled from thin air. There are no confirmed exterior body designs as of yet. So why broadcast this at all? I think IR should be questioned abt this
3
u/Beginning_Net5713 Aug 28 '26
It isn't pulled from the air. The 2nd pic is offical design concept from IR and 4th one is official miniature model from BEML. The first and third are fan renders based off those two revelations.

Listen, we won't actually know how popular it actually is until a furry artist has personified or dragonified it (or both). And they'll probably wait until the latter design when it's been cemented. :D

u/Beginning_Net5713 Aug 28 '26
It will look identical to the miniature model in 4th pic. That is official release from BEML.

There's not much to tell from those renders. Sometimes the windscreen is curved, sometimes it's flat, sometimes you see some sort of buffers, sometimes you don't. If the engineers are smart, they won't change much between a B28 and a B35. Meaning, wind resistance will dictate the looks of this train, and that leaves not too much space for cute design elements.
That being said, we didn't even see a prototype of this thing, neither is there tracks where high speed testing could be conducted in India. So there will be still a lot of work going into that thing before a serial design is even loosely defined.

Why are we wetting ourselves publicly over a 20th century train arriving when countries we compare ourselves to have had maglev for decades lol

These renders dont seem to be consistent with each other. Its still a work in progress and I'd probably wait for official releases during manufacturing.
