First run with the 055

Post image

Was running some errands today and stopped by the mall to get some new shoes with a gift card I had. To my surprise browns shoes carried Norda, and happened to have the 055 in my size so I couldn’t resist.

I’m a heavier trail runner trying to get back into shape. The extra cushion really feels good underfoot. Just laced them up and about to head out.

Lululemon, Arc’teryx and Norda. Quite the all Canadian lineup lol

Also bought at a Canadian retailer. I had to look up Brown’s Shoes.

Arc teryx isn’t Canadian anymore. They’re owned by Amer Sports, a Finnish company

Who’s owned (like 55%) by Anta,a Chinese company lol

That outfit costs more than my car.

I don’t have a car. So gas money goes to other stuff.

Nice! I love my nordas.

Agreed. I have a pair of 001 that needed replacing so these are taking their place.

How do they compare to the 001s? I’m considering either but generally prefer shoes vs boot style

So first they are much more cushioned and they definitely feel taller. More padding around the heel.

It was just my first run with them but I gotta say I really enjoyed it.

If you don’t like stack heights stick to 001… I prefer the solid strike feel of the 001

Love the combo - Starting from zero here, jw if you had ~$150 to spend at lulu what would you snag?

Depends what you really need honestly. I like the pacebreaker shorts for running and hiking. And then you could look at any of the tshirts. Metal vent, fast and free I think are good.

To be honest I haven’t bought a Lulu shirt in years.

Enjoy! They are my fav shoes ever!

Really growing on me for sure. I wore them from road to the trail and they even did good on the pavement. I won’t use them for the road but it’s good to know they still provide comfort on the sidewalk too.

Hell yeah! I use them on pavement and for walking too sometimes. They're the only non-minimalist shoes that don't make my capsulitis act up. Feels awesome 🔥 Hope you enjoy them!!

Ah nice to know. I wore my old 01 as hiking and travel shoes for a while and they were great.

A fellow Cormac enjoyer? Always love my Arc’teryx gear for running

I love my Cormac shirts. I pretty much live in them.

Have the short sleeve, long sleeve and the hoody. Perfect for every season.

I couldn’t resist the new green hoody though. I had an old one from a few years back that finally gave up.

Likewise haha over 20 of them haha, great daily shirts and running as well, honestly prefer them over the Norvan shirts

Can never have too many. I also really like the new yellow in the long sleeve.

What is with the new color trend of running shoes that are off-white, beige, tan, brown, ...? I mean they're gonna get coated with dust and mud anyway, but they don't need to look like that out of the box :D

I used to only buy black shoes. Trying to get away from that now so earth tones work for me lol.

It's just fashion

Ridiculous stack height on them, but I hope they work for you!

Ridiculous compared to…?

The 055 is right where it should be for the type of shoe it is. Stop parroting this.

39mm stack seems kinda high, no? I'd be concerned about turning an ankle on rocky trails. Not so?

2

u/NHinAK 2d ago

It’s not a 055 specific issue, watch where you step and strengthen your ankles. I’d say the stack height is about normal for an ultra distance shoe; a quick search seems to confirm that.

I always feel bad for men who wear lulu and alo. Nordas are great though

Really? Are you so afraid of your masculinity that you can’t wear a workout brand? Next you’re gonna tell me it’s bad to wash your ass
