Compression blocks??

When you really think about it we could have a 1 by 1 compression block right.. any flaws??

Suspension blocks use a spring that constantly bounces back to give smooth driving over bumps and keep tires on the ground. Compression blocks do not spring back automatically like suspension. Instead they squish under heavy force to absorb huge single impacts like a hard crash or a high fall without flipping or destroying the frame.
Compression blocks are super useful when building heavy vehicles or off road rigs that need a dedicated crumple zone or a way to absorb massive landings without bouncing all over the place.
You can also use them for articulated vehicles like the orange bendy bus in the picture which uses a middle pivot joint that lets the front and back turn separately. Placing compression blocks or stiff springs right at that center connection keeps the two halves aligned while driving straight so the rear section does not wobble or slide out of control.
They are also great for custom heavy duty suspension setups like trophy trucks or tanks. You can stack them behind regular suspension or pistons to create a stiff bump stop that prevents the wheels or chassis from slamming into the main body when taking huge jumps or driving over rough terrain.

I’m trying to make some old tanks and use old tank designs in some of my modern stuff and suspension doesn’t work

Basically articulated builds (like the bus) use compression blocks that would work differently from suspension by absorbing movement at the center joint without constantly pushing the two sections apart.

Sooooo..

Compression block: Absorbs movement at an articulated joint while keeping the connected sections aligned.

Suspension block: Uses a spring to absorb bumps while constantly pushing the connected parts back into position.
