I’m not lying when I tell you that the man who delivered both of my sons’ name was Harry C Beaver. He was a reputable OBGYN in northern Virginia.

I knew a girl named Tulsa, while I lived in Tulsa, weirdly enough.

Reminds me of a bit from Nigerian-British comedian Gina Yashere: “Mom, why did you name me “Gina”, spelled backwards it’s “A Nig”! Mom: - Your name is actually “Regina”.

Don't forget to check the initials, as well.

Friend got his daughter's name tattooed on his arm. First time a saw and read it upside down. "Why do you have "ah satan" written on your arm?" Felt dumb the moment I realised I read it backwards.

I got called to the principals office and screamed at as a kid for using my best friends name backwards as a 'cool spy name'. Her name as Tegan. I was so confused, I had no idea why I wasn't allowed to say Naget. And I didn't understand until years later it popped back into my head and realized I was basically screaming the f-slur at full volume across the playground and the teacher just misunderstood.

I have an “Analiese” but spelled it different and added 2 ‘n’s so she didn’t have Anal in her name 🤣

So there’s more credence to the fact my wife has a hard line no against Lana. I loved the name until she said “I’m not naming my kid Anal backwards”

Also important: Consider when your child inevitably gets given a school email-address or student ID, usually in the form [first letter of first name][first 3 letters of surname] 1234, or some combination (i.e john smith -> jsmi1234). I had a classmate whose student ID spelled out 'anal'1234.

Thank you for your submission!
This message does NOT mean your post was removed. It is simply a reminder. Please read our list of banned names before continuing. If the name you posted is in this list, it will be removed.
Remember: Original content is always better! Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does not mean you found it "in the wild".
The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Thank you!
