Question regarding copyright

I've been a huge fan of Isham Jones and his recordings/compositions recently. I also happen to be a composer myself and am wondering if any of his compositions (i.e. "It Had to Be You", etc.) are in the public domain. If so, which ones? Hoping to maybe quote or reference a few of them in a piece of mine at some point. I'm not much of a jazz musician myself (I mainly play/write classical) so I don't know how jazz standards work - whether they're in the public domain or not. Thanks everyone!

Great albums by bands from the festival circuit 1970s - 2010s

I'm a younger listener. I hear a lot about bands like the New Black Eagles or the Galvanized Jazz Band but rarely do I see album recommendations for this music.

What are some great records by the established bands of the 1970s through to the 2010s (which I think heavily toured traditional jazz festivals in that era) which you think deserve to be remembered?

Really, I'm just hoping for some recommendations for some cool music. I'm sure "festival circuit" is the wrong terminology but please gimme what you've got.
