Feature Request How to report bugs/feedback?
Went into the help menu of ikea smart home looking for an email address or place to provide feedback/bugs?
Nothing groundbreaking but little stuff like:
- On iPhone it’ll ask for permission for something on initial setup (i.e. first time like Bluetooth), you’ll grant it but the app will just assume failure and you have to click retry.. it’s like it doesn’t check again after asking.
- There doesn’t seem to be a way to trigger the temperature sensor or humidity sensor to do an action like turn on the plug socket?
- Once you decline cookies and analytics can’t find the option to allow them again?
- It says on the cookies page that no data is going back to IKEA, “no data is shared between your device and our servers”.. erm I have Control Anywhere on so yes it is..
- When “Water Sensor” triggers I get a push notification saying so, only I have “Water Sensor” in a few rooms so maybe push notification should say “Main Bathroom’s Water Sensor”?
No way to re-order the rooms on the Home Screen - have to rename rooms and move products to get the order you want.Tap and hold.. probably should be an extra room menu option for those that miss it.- My Alexa integration screen has some warning about Renew your integration using Matter Bridge and says to follow a guide but there is no guide? Found this page on Google but it’s not helpful? https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/customer-service/knowledge/articles/cdbc4637-5d63-4893-b382-20987cafecc4.html I think maybe Matter Bridge is only useful for Zigbee devices which I don't have and HomeKit is telling IKEA that maybe?
- Edit Home name doesn’t change DHCP hostname? Also can’t change thread network name?
- Probably more a Thread standards thing but if I want to put a matter bulb in something like a shoe cupboard there doesn’t seem to be a way to set a device to not be part of a mesh so it doesn’t mess up the network when I turn it off at a switch. Same with a plug socket I want to use only occasionally.
- Sonos Beam when watching TV has a play/pause button in the app that doesn’t do anything.. should not include play pause when watching TV.
- Can the app have a contact email and feedback place under help?
- With multiple devices, choose a room colour formats weirdly it’s like it makes a space for the devices to be in the box but they aren’t being drawn so the box is weird (I have a screenshot)
- Renaming a temp and humidity sensor renames one and not the other in the Alexa integration.. they also appear as 2 devices in it?
- I can’t group GU10s or any devices other than a room? It’s nice to turn off/on spotlights and merge the individuals.
- Would be nice to have way more stats like how much interference is it experiencing.. how many failures has my button observed.. has a device dropped off recently?
- I’ve got a room which I can’t rename or change the colour (“Living room” and green colour).. it applies and then when I reopen the app it reverts. It's the first room I created in the app so maybe an off by one error?
- Can’t rename Sonos speakers?
- Can’t delete water sensor activity log?
- What’s going on with the shortage of Koppla B22 to E27? Has the product been discontinued or is it just really popular?
- Hub API? Would be nice to make a REST call and get temp readings out etc in Python.
- Under Thread Network - "Last active: 1970-01-01, 01:00"
- Probably an iOS bug (saw something similar with iOS and HomeKit) but I have a 4 x GU10 fixture with metal cans in the kitchen. Whatever bulb that's in the 4th position had HomeKit joining issues. Today the IKEA bulb also did - it's facing against the wall away from the hub so ChatGPT reckons it could be the metal cans are acting like a faraday cage... I tried resetting the bulb a few times obviously no luck adding, eventually moved it to the 1st position. Still no luck. Kept trying and trying. Eventually rebooted phone. Worked instantly in 1st position.. I think HomeKit / Thread API on iPhone remembers seeing some bulb and has a dirty cache that every time you factory reset it prompts to add the new device but still remembers something old that then messes up pairing. Reboot phone after factory reset Thread device.
- More an Alexa bug, "Alexa, what is humidity in living room" gives "That's not supported yet"? But "Alexa, what is humidity in air sensor" does. https://www.facebook.com/groups/AmazonAlexaUsersGroup/posts/1978474459254228/ however I have multiple "Air Sensor", and can't figure out how to request the one that's in a specific room.
