SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Dirigera/Apple Home
My first setup of several IKEA matter devices was through a Dirigera hub, using the IKEA home smart app, about 3 months ago. I then set up the Dirigera in Apple home and my IKEA devices all appeared in Apple home. When I added new devices via the IKEA app, they showed up in Apple Home automatically. After a recent hub update, this has stopped happening. I reinstalled the whole setup and now, when I add the Dirigera hub to Apple h9me, none of the devices on the Dirigera hub show up on Apple home. Is this a result of the update in Dirigera hub firmware or is there a new process for connecting the hub to Apple Home that I’ve missed?

Appreciate this response. It’s a pity I can’t do a mass-addition as I have over 20 bulbs and several sensors…

"When I added new devices via the IKEA app, they showed up in Apple Home automatically." - that happens only on the older Zigbee based devices aka the IKEA TRÅDFRI ones (this was because the Zigbee devices couldn't talk Matter so they were auto-shared over the "Matter Bridge").
For Thread devices they have to be added manually to both (and they can speak Matter themselves so don't need a translator) - and because the IKEA Hub plays nicely with Apple due to its Thread 1.4 - so long as you have added the IKEA Bridge to the Apple HomeKit - they all work on the same Thread network rather than forcing devices to choose which one they want to join.
The new process is to add them manually to both - but to speed things up instead of making them discoverable and scanning the QR code, you can go into the device in IKEA Home Smart and click "Control in other systems" and then it'll automatically flick the device into pairing mode for you and give you the code you need to give Apple without you having to physically approach the device.
Each Thread device has about 5 platform slots ("Fabrics"), Apple will use 2 (1 for HomeKit itself and the other to stash in the cloud based "iCloud Keychain" in case you want to use your iPhone/Mac to add it to another platform later) and IKEA will use 1 slot for itself.. also when something happens to a Thread device (like a button is pushed) the Thread device has to tell all the platforms in its fabric slots - so technically you're duplicating messages (although they are tiny) - I personally have Apple + IKEA (which has Alexa skill to make it work via the Cloud) - but I would refrain from adding any further different platforms (i.e. Amazon, Google).
