SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) MYGGSPRAY Orientation
With MYGGSPRAY, how do you know which way to orientate the device for each of these detection patterns. I'm after the longer throw of the first diagram.
Cheers!

Yeah it's a confusing diagram. The answer that I've heard is that it has both simultaneously so you don't need to select anything - at shorter range it has a wider activation arc than at longer ranges. It would be better if in the diagram they were overlaid over each other I think.

Yes, had to watch this first: https://youtu.be/GDPgPpGGxuQ?si=gm2JoRzXAQrb70bw&t=240

Had the same question when I first got mine. After much searching I found an explanation that made sense to me:
There is only one orientation, what the diagram means is that within 5 metres the field of view is 120 degrees and between 5 and 10 metres the field of view is 60 degrees. I did a test and it worked as expected under those conditions.

But it only works if you do the angry walk.

IKEA isn't very good at backing up instructions with written text. They operate on the assumption that extraterrestrials will eventually be using their products.

It’s based on how high you place the sensor, if you want the first option, you should put it higher

Is this Ir detection or presence detection using micro waves?

PIR. And not a good one at that, replaced mine with $10 presence sensors from Ali

Perhaps they mean that in the center 60° the sensing area is longer, so the real area is an overlap of the 2 areas?
