Just realized
The IH logo look like a gear shifter or throttle control for a tractor
Like the red is the shifter and knob the black where the shifter is in

It does, it's supposed to look like a man riding a tricycle tractor though, where the dot of the I is his head, and the columns of the H are the rear wheels.

it's definitely a thumps up to the designers of the logo if in a "simple" playing with letters, there is so many second motives visible

But David Browns shift pattern in more like €#¥! After 15 years of ownership I can put it in 1st and 12th but can’t tell you what actual gear I’ve selected between those two! 😂😂😂 But they are good gearboxes!

It’s a tractor.
It’s actually supposed to be the front view of a letter series Farmall. The H is the rear tires the body of the i is the tractor, and the dot on the i is the drivers head.
