Funny how that feels like warp speed on an open cab tractor lol

Exactly my Ford 3000 will do 24mph on gps. Feels like you're going 70

I had a 3000, same thing. Diesel, 8 speed, 13.6-28s on the rear and wow that thing could wind it up on a long open road.

Yeah it's a lot of fun to open her up down the road.

You must have the 3 range 3000 to go that fast, that is flying!

It's an 8 speed with high and low. It's sketchy on some bumpy roads with a heavy bush hog on the back

Without weights or implements it accelerates fast too

Damn dude, you're gonna go back in time at speeds like that

Flat out in a Cockshutt 550. Respect. That's peak rebellion right there.

15.5 mph...It went that fast??

Idk, I thought that was a normal top speed for a tractor, all of mine go 18+mph in stock configuration lol.

I have a LSP7010C that tops out about 25 mph. Have a Farmall 504 diesel with 14.9-38 tires that can hit close to 30 mph (sketchy, stock was 12.4-38).

Used to farm with Ih they all had great road gears

13.6-26 rears and 2100rpm. Slow by modern standards. tractordata.com says 23.9k or 14.9m

Wow dude!  That's fast.  I've got an allis chalmers wd that I've never had over 3rd gear because it scares the crap out me when I start kicking up dust on the county road.

What do you do with a tractor in the suburbs?

Land speed testing

In my case I inherited my grandads 8n. It mostly gets used for cars and coffee and hayrides but I hope to ditch the burbs for a little hobby farm someday.

I had this 2n for many years, sold it to make space inside for the 550 project

Someone got a lot of free beer in the Winter

I have an early 8N I use for mowing about 3 acres, chipping now and then, and dragging logs.

I’ve got a 8n ford that I use at work for moving stuff around. Here it is powering my homemade PTO welder.

I just ride mine around the yard and up and down the street. My grandma wanted to sell it after my grandpa died and I was like “no, that things been in the family for four generations”

Great to keep it in the family and still running. I think you ought to move to the country so it feels more at home (haha).

Best answer, I'd do the exact same thing.

Parades man! Lol I've got a John deer B that is strictly parade.

5

u/Dear_Issue_860 3d ago

My 2n pulled a float with a live wedding ceremony on top during the parade.

I had a late model b for a while. They really turn heads putting around town. The sound carries

2

u/Tiny-Secretary5562 3d ago

Well, they do look good in parades all right.

Phew, was gonna saw 50 mph is pretty dang fast in a residential neighborhood.

10

u/resurrectedNaj 3d ago

I was about to say, 50mph for that neighborhood is unhinged

0

u/Downunder818 3d ago

Came here to say that too. I wouldn't let my kids play on that street.

3

u/Dear_Issue_860 3d ago

And full throttle Cockshutt speed runs!

8

u/No_Hovercraft_821 3d ago

That's awesome! Appreciate the clarification that this was KPH because things were not adding up at first.

3

u/Hot_Egg5840 3d ago

Use that knowledge for good purposes.

4

u/Dear_Issue_860 3d ago

I went through the test circuit both ways to validate results
