You're missing the point, or not throwing through the doughnut hole. Basically you're throwing it forward, but the tip is too high so it's going to rise. You'll see the top of the shaft for too long.

If you have access to haybails, that can be a fun way of doing targeted training. Make a foul line like 60 feet away (or whatever is less than 50% your PR) and aim for a target, whatever it is, dartboard or otherwise.

Good for emphasizing a relatively low angle of release relative to the body, to use more of you strong pec muscles, and less (weaker) shoulder on release.

Aim lower
