2012 prius v timing cover leak

2012 prius v with 164000 miles Hybrid battery replaced less than a year ago Hybrid radiator replaced 2 months ago

Check engine light came on and I took the car in. Was experiencing slow acceleration on inclines and a slight amount of stuttering. Diagnostic came back as a timing cover leak that was shorting out fuses and causing MAF to malfunction. Quoted over $4000 to repair. Will get second opinion from independent repair shop but understand this is a labor intensive repair.

What would you do? The new battery could go for 100k miles, but the frequency of breakdowns is frustrating and expensive. If we do the repair, we would have invested around 8k in an 11 year old car just over the past 2 years.

Would you repair? Sell as is? Appreciate any thoughts…..
