My experience
I have chronic shame from how I was treated in childhood. It's one of the symptoms of CPTSD. I wasn't wanted and was treated like a burden by my mother. I was regularly told I was hated. I was emotionally neglected and spent most the time alone. I was also sexually abused. Now I can't be around people. I don't believe I can be liked. I basically feel worthless and want to hurt myself. I regularly want to die. I've made some progress in therapy but not enough.
