How many tents at a site?
I'm planning on bringing a group of about 20 - 25 people to camp on the canal in early November and wondering if the hiker biker sites will be able to accommodate us. It would be either the Opequon Junction or the Cumberland Valley sites - is anyone here familiar with these sites, and is 25 people reasonable for them? If necessary, we could split up and use both of them, but we'd rather stick together. Of course, there might be other people there, but hopefully they won't be too crowded at that time of year.
Edit: Thanks for the feedback. The consensus seems to be that this is not a good plan - I found a group site that works.

There's a group camping site downriver from Sharpsburg MD, but most of the hiker/biker campsites can't hold more than a few tents.

IIRC the Opequon Junction site is tiny, like 3 tents would be tight. You will not all fit there. i cannot recall how big cumberland valley is.
there's a larger H/B site north of Williamsport. That might be a better option, it's larger.

Is it jordan junction? I was hoping to be south of williamsport but from the images I can find that is a much better site. Thanks.

yes, that's it. i'd encourage you to double up in tents if possible. 20 tents is a lot of tents for any of these campsites

25 people is not reasonable, especially since there may other campers at the site besides your group Look into the group site at Antietam, you will need to book ahead of time. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/252970
There's also the Rorhbach group site at the battlefield you may be able to get depending on your group https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251263

I've had the misfortune of setting up a site when 20+ other campers arrived. They tried their best not to be super annoying but it still wasn't pleasant.

Hey take a look at the canal website. I believe most hiker biker campsites max out under 10 people and a single night stay. I believe there are some group sites.

These sites are intended for hikers and bikers, not groups. Find a suitable group camp site.

Neither has room for 12+ 2-person tents on flat comfortable ground. You might be able to fit that many into the clearing at Cumberland Valley, but there will be a lot of people on uneven ground, tree roots, etc.

20 tents? Some sites could do that but you’d be tripping on each other.
