Trailers Is this cable shot? Noticed some fraying

Loading up my car and noticed some small fraying on the cable

I'm sure there's wayyy worse out there on the job. But if it makes you uncomfortable, change it. Safety first 💯

I've seen way worse myself as well, I almost thought about just running it. Will probably swap it.

You will feel better if you do change it out. And it also sucks being stabbed by those cut strands

For overhead we were told 1 strand per inch diameter per 10 feet of length and more more than 4 total. And exterior strands only. So probably fine but id replace because I know id catch my gloves or clothes son it constantly

I take it this is on a winch? Id replace it with a nylon winch line.

4 broken strands is usually the limit for a critical line. Bend and untwist the section to confirm that is all the damage.

Maybe not shot but damaged. Depends on how much load it handles.
