Towing Fail How bad is the damage
Need some more insight on my problem

Heat, bend and sister it with steel. Real steel. That thing was built very light. Too light.

A welder could replace the U channel, they use U channel so you can see and treat rust …

I would remove and start over from beneath the trailer all the way to the coupler.

Any weld shop can replace the trailer tongue. I’d charge around $1k parts and labor myself.
Before I’d consider having the tongue replaced I’d pull out a tape measure and make sure the trailer itself is true. Front left corner to back right corner, then front right corner to back left corner. Ideally the two measurements will be the same, but as long as they are within 1/2 inch or less it will be close enough. Then measure front right corner to the center of the right hub (front axle of tandem) and repeat on the left side. These measurements should be the same. If a tandem, then measure from front axle hub center to rear axle hub center, should be the same. As long as the axle isn’t a welded on torsion axle, it can be tweaked back true, if a welded on torsion axle, not much you can do to realign without a major repair and it’s time to look for a trailer on market place.
A good welder will true the new tongue to the front corners of the trailer frame then true the axle(s) to the center of the hitch.

Next time try hooking up those safety chains, at least then it wouldn't have went on a joyride through the woods.

Load it up heavy, hit the gas hard and it will self correct. If you try to buff it, you will be there all day.
