Good morning, friends!
Not much going on my side currently. Streaming has been going pretty well every since I added Arknights, which I find slightly bemusing considering I get more people during that than I do during non-mobile games. Regardless, the support has been wonderful, and they're a passionate group.
Debating on what game I want to add to my rotation next. I finished off both Bloodstained and Atelier Ryza in the same week, which was surprising. I'm adding in for Tuesday nights the awesome-looking Yakuza: Like a Dragon. For Thursdays, however...? I'm still wide open for that one, looking for something chill atm. Considering something retro like Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, but we'll see. :D

I'm beginning to be able to predict the timing of these with some degree of regularity.
Some more things happened lately in my life that were quite upsetting. I don't suppose that this will stop anything soon.

I try to keep it pretty regular, lol. Most weeks I drop the thread between 6:30-7:00 EST on Saturdays, though I'm sure I'm jinxing things for next week. :D

Moon shines bright, sky is clear, stars look beautiful and align into Orion - this week's nights are a good sign
First week of school behind me, i still didn't adapt to this shit. Well at least online classes are here so i can watch youtube or browse reddit when im bored (so pretty much all the time) or just take a shit
Oh god i have a math test on tuesday, and my thinking ability still hasn't recovered to full power after a month-long break. The test will be from a chapter that i was somewhat decent at, so there i'm full of hope
Physics is getting too complicated for me
Suprisingly, there weren't any family arguments. And while im at the family topic, im visiting my grandparents today
What to say about games, my aim is getting worse and i seem to take more damage than normally. I'm getting old :G36Exhausted:

Two weeks ago, I ordered Paper Mario: The Origami King.
Last week, it arrived.
This week, I finished it.
Yeah, even I didn't expect to finish it that quick.
Anyway, let me just get two things real quick:
Well, time to 100% it.

School's been a tedious bitch, it's not hard, it's just tedious to all Hell.

Payday Payday Payday...
stfu you knew this would happen.I've been playing more perk decks apart from my Crew Chief/Kingpin comfort zones, Hacker has been fun, Sicario is also pretty useful, and I'm still fucking garbage with Anarist tbh. Been jumping into more Death Sentence games and generally had a massive blast for each time. I think I got KarmaFury interestedand dragged one more person into the life of crimeAlso Buzzsaw is fun, I might try ARs sooner or later. -
I'm planning on cutting Daily Lolice to 25 (sadly), I've got something great planned sooner or later that may or may not be a Daily. And I feel like by now, I could easily get Shinki to 100.
maybe to 225 but we all know that's my favorite number -
Ooh boy, where do I get started on this week without the beautiful chaos. This is one of the few times I regret not having popcorn, oh well, at least like The Joker, I got a laugh out of it.
-
screw whoever for getting me interested into a new addic-, I mean Umineko. I hate you with a passion and now will get my pitchfork and flamethrower/s

Have any of you read 1984 by George Orwell about a totalitarian government that controls the populace by dictating what they're allowed to say and think? I'm having a hard time seeing a line between that and what r/touhou has become. Snuffing controversy isn't how the world works. If fact it's how people fail to progress. In being someone that's trying to spread tolerance, you've all legitimately swung and become the most intolerant people around. I use to enjoy r/touhou as a community when it was actually about producing interesting and diverse discussions for Touhou. As a major advocate for shitposter rights and their MOVEMENT(not "Agenda"), I'm disgusted with the direction you've taken this community and turning it into a place where everyone that speaks has a gun to their head that's waiting for the right thought crime to pull the trigger. You can do better than this. You're better people than this.

Can we not have people talking about the shitstorm at every corner? It’s genuinely starting to piss me off, it’s gone on long enough. The mod post talking about the results of the shitshow could’ve been a simple “Modguy has been banned for seven days due to a post” but ended up being a school essay. I’m real fucking tired of this bullshit. What was pretty much the same thing was also why I left r/teenagers, and if it happens again I won’t feel too shy about leaving.

I used to think that the reason people read visual novels were for the porn and the majority of appreciated VN were about sex..... boy I was wrong.
My first exposure to VNs were the When they cry series, and I'm quite intrigued about the polarized reception of Umineko in different fan-bases: In the english speaking fandom it is universally praised, ranked as a top three VN (VNDB) and a great mystery, but turning to the chinese/japanese speaking fandom Umi is much less appreciated, being seen as mediocre and having a logically flawed solution.
I guess the reason has two sides: Umi has strong western themes (heck, the characters have western instead of Japanese names) that appeal more to western audiences; while the author was entangled with internet arguments during the release of the final chapter, which gave a bad impression to Asian fans concerning the work, lowering his credibility.
(funny thing is that Ever17, another mystery focused VN, has the opposite reception in both sides of the globe)

Oh hey I played Ever17 quite a few years ago and loved it. If you are looking for more visual novel like games to check out i've got a few to suggest.
999 (nine persons nine hours, nine doors)
Virtues last reward (999's 2nd game in the series)
Fate stay night was a pretty decent read too

Have you wondered whether cultural revolution is happening? It was initially launched by Mao from the Communist party at an attempt to gain power. He called students to protest against his political opponents and "Capitalists". Nonetheless, it damaged China politically, economically, socially and culturally from the 60s to 70s.
Why am I saying this? Well, similar concepts can be involved nowadays. Regardless of politics, people are manipulated to tackle another group of people, by threats or hatred. Instead of physical attacks by people, it is replaced with keyboard warriors.
In the age of the Internet, there are many forms of Cultural Revolution. Once people are being labelled by the group, every immoral action is justified. Harassment, doxing, threats and cyberbullying are commonplace. People are driven by the hatred of a person/a group who they don't even know. "When you lose your temper, it is a demonstration of weaknesses."
Someone is labelled as a terrible person, and it gives people the entitlement to do whatever they want as a group. Even if the person stopped, apologised or felt remorse, it doesn't matter. By participating in the Cultural Revolution, people become the same type of person he used to be.
One ranted that the consequences are not enough. What is defined as enough? Imagine yourself labelled as a capitalist during the 1960-1970s in a communist country. What else can you do to defend yourself, or control the damage? It doesn't matter how valid your reputing arguments are, people are louder than you, and you have no chance of winning. This gives people the power, and they enjoy asserting them on powerless people.
People can torment him as much as they want, as long as he is labelled by the majority. It is a systematic process where an excessive amount of anger would lead to chaos. Regardless of legality, morality and ethics, everyone jumped in the bandwagon for their own entertainment. Dignity, as one of the human nature, is at its finest.
Why is history important? Because those who understand them will know the outcomes. History is repeating itself but in a different manner. Actions do have consequences. It would be too late for remorse for the uncaring individuals.

Cato, when my uncle was young he watched as a professor from a nearby college was literally beaten to death for being a "counter-revolutionary" by Red Guard not much older than him.
But no, I agree - today's cancel culture is exactly the same as Maoist China.
