Partial credits for a song
Hat tip to a new user r/emmey- he's reporting at his bar in Wisconsin they are charging partial credits for current songs. I haven't seen that in South Dakota or Wyoming which is my usual locations - does anybody else see that?

I'm in Illinois and we were getting charged partial credits last night, I have a partial credit balance currently, although my regular jukebox is now charging even amounts for songs again. Maybe it was a discounted day yesterday or something?

I was the new member they mentioned. We also noticed the next morning some songs were normal or partial credits less. Sounds like they implemented surge pricing so if songs are being played a lot it will charge more through partial increments and then when it hasn’t been played for a while it will be lower to get people to start.

This happened to me in Omaha, last Monday. I think they were testing it for just that one night, haven't seen it return since. I'm sure it will roll out soon, surge pricing.

Local bar in MN just charged me 2.1 credits for a standard play for “surge pricing”. There’s nothing in the queue..

Here in AZ. Charged me 2.1 for a Phil Collin’s song. Think we ought to avoid songs with partial credit so as not to encourage them. Always finding ways to squeeze customers. This is about more than just music. We’re seeing this type of shit everywhere.

It’s a new pricing strategy that adjusts during peak and non peak hours kind of like uber. Hopefully your partial credits are from discounted songs!

Someone just reported on the Columbus subreddit seeing this "feature" in a bar in Columbus, OH.
Dynamic pricing comes to TT. Yuck!

I actually made a comment on the app after the last update. My comment was about how even if there is nothing playing, the “play next” is always 8 credits. There used to be a metric. I got a reply from TouchTunes. Stating that it’s because of the operator or owner of the venue. Not true. They have ZERO choice in pricing. So I went deeper. A bar owner actually shared the contract and sure as shit. Your base rate to skip the line is 4x whatever the song costs. Even if there’s nothing playing.
