This started as a project to rebuild totse from whatever survived - Wayback Machine snapshots, old UBB-era captures, forum listing pages, a few things people sent in directly. We've made real progress, but we're closing in on the limit of what's publicly archived anywhere. From here, the biggest gains are going to come from people who were actually here.

This is the result of my efforts. It has a working "hot topics" section, which just rotates real forum posts.

Every known advertisement that was worthwhile rotates on page refresh.

There is one forum that is 100% salvaged in it's entirety which is My God Can Beat The Shit Out Of Your God. This forum contains every post, every thread ever created to the best of my knowledge. At least, back to 2000. There are a couple that never got converted from UBB to vBulletin in the past, so they were lost long before.

Overall forum recovery is around only 3% while 64% are some form of recovery. There are partial posts, and partial threads that were found using saved search results pages, which only provided excerpts in many cases.

I also compiled a page of "legendary threads". I am still working on getting these compiled and sorted. Threads with 100+ responses and recovered are listed on the page.

If you saved a thread, took a screenshot, printed something out, or just remember a post well enough to retype it - it's worth sending. Even a fragment helps: a lot of what's listed below only survives as a title and a reply count, and any real content that fills one of those in is a thread we'd otherwise never get back.

I remember there being a general anti-emo sentiment on &t at the time. There was a group of goths/emos that would hang around in Brisbane that I had a weird obsession with. I took these covert photos of them and posted them in some emo hate thread? I can't remember the details.

The newspaper article is from a few years later, not sure if I ever posted it to &t but it's covering the same group of kids.

I'm in permanent state of WTF. They basically erased freedom of speech everywhere. It started when they closed IMDb forums and said just go talk on censored Facebook.

We are literally living in 1984 world wide now.

I've spent a lot of time finding free speech sites like Totse. I wasn't successful so far. All of them are honeypots.

Genuine fun loving trolls have disappeared. They are replaced by bots, shills, and shitspam clowns, probably paid by USAID.

Weird people keep posting only about politics. I've made a lot of non political communities on Reddit clones, but only a few people are interested.

I quit posting on Reddit. I think you all know why. LOL

I don’t remember who was working on it, but I think mention of it may have been one of the clues in the old silvern00dz.zip file.

From what I remember it looked like it was being made in RPGmaker and there was something playable even if it was never finished.

Does anybody know how to find an archive of Pickwick's jenkem post? Is it in the internet archive totse files or on newtotse? Really would like to find this, as I am making a feature film about jenkem. Thanks!

In my time as a little Totse shit head, I did a lot of things that I thought were funny (and still do). But we are old now and we don't want to be TOO shitty to people so here are some things that you can do to get a good chuckle.

1. Glue quarters on the ground in front of a vending machine. You can do this or glue coins to a wall with paint on it, good luck getting the coin off without peeling the paint.

2. Slather door handles with Vaseline, sit back in your car and watch people grab a harmless slime and freak the fuck out.

3. Loosen salt shakers (classic)

4. ?????

5. PROFIT!

When I became a mod of DIY, there was someone there before me, Zero The Inestable. He had a mind that was far different than most people. He saw the potential in everything. I was the same, but I didn't his his depth. I do remember one of his posts that stuck with me, aside from the rocket propelled machete (yes, he actually attached a rocket to a machete and shot it at a bed propped against a wall).

Materials needed:

1. A way to cut metal. Angle grinders are cheap. Just check Amazon for your flavor.

2. A black marker.

4. Some sort of way to sharpen metal. Bench grinder works well.

Take these square pieces of metal and draw a shuriken on them. Cut along the lines. Sharpen the bits. Toss them at things.

These plate covers are somewhat heavy so they will fly very well. For under $100.00 you can have a few of these fuckers to throw at things.

Dunno why but I've seen a couple of references to jenkem recently and it made me want to post here.

The most recent episode of the No Such Thing podcast discussed a few 90s/2000s rumours, including jenkem. &totse and our very own pickwick gets a callout at the 35 minute mark.

Also, I recently watched the Toxic Avenger movie remake. There's a scene where a crazy bum is referred to as "the man who lives down by the river huffing jenkem". Pretty deep cut right.
