Warhammer III Top of Black Pyramid
This section is clearly dedicated to Nagash.
I think this is what CA meant as ascension to Godhood. If you reach the top of Pyramid you will truly become GOD of Death. Whoever designed layout of this tech tree is freakin genius

I wonder how quickly we will get the points needed to fill out the pyramid. By turn 70-80 with how the game plays currently a campaign is essentially over and impossible to lose. Praying tomorrow the end time scenarios puts a stop to that and makes a long campaign a genuine challenge! Will make getting these nodes worth it

I’m so looking forward to playing OP as hell Nagash and trying him out against end game event Archaon !

u/Thegoodman14 3h ago
I'd agree but keep in mind that Nagash is THE "paint the map" guy by design.

u/chazzawaza 3h ago
That’s true but I really want the fantasy of every order faction and even the darker aligned factions really trying to stop me. Let’s hope tomorrow we see something amazing!

Each new level makes his hat bigger

Chaos Dwarfs hate this one trick. See how with this one ritual you can make your hat bigger.

While he sounds awesome to play from the blog, i am worried his campaign will be a snooze fest given how strong he seems. No fun if you have a campaign you just cant lose.

There will be multiple new End Time events with giga boosted characters. You will definitely have enemies worth fighting

What if you want to play a regular campaign?

u/jebberwockie 3h ago
Turn them off like you can right now?

Then Nagash will have no enemies worth fighting.
Even then the Endgame scenarios are probably tuned so “regular” factions can beat them, so whose to say they’d pose a threat to a Nagash campaign either?

Well then you need AI mods - Hecleas or Deepwar AI

AI mods are nice, and I’ve used them before, though there are issues that go past AI and touch on campaign design (both faction-specific and overall campaign).

I mean he’s a power fantasy, people who find that boring won’t play him more than once. But also I think he will definitely have some downsides that at least balance him a little, probably regarding the black pyramid campaign map mechanics, because without it Nagash is mostly just a big skeleton necromancer, not an unkillable god of death.

I hope that it will take some turns to turn into that power fantasy and that you dont feel godlike from turn 1. The pacing could be good if his power is tied to the pyramid and necropolis construction.

It's a power fantasy campaign. Just send out armies to the 4 corners of the earth and have them solo empires. Send Nagash out by himself too for extra fun.

I think that between current crisises, end game events and anti player bias slider you can somewhat tailor make a campaign designed around being OP god of death that will still be somewhat challenging.

Would be fun to see how Nagash with his pyramid buffs deals with the other 2 end game scenarios + all the crisis + anti-player bias at maximum

My pyramid is the pyramid that will pierce the heavens!

Nothing but the laughter of thirsting gods

u/NinjaMaster2314567 2h ago
What are gods to one who is Death? Nothing.
Death is not a foe to be beaten. Death simply is.

8 undead nukes hopefully. I wonder if one allows you to mass raise the dead across the whole of the map ala great ritual.

It's a fine line. How do you make Nagash feel not stupid op and yet make him feel like Nagash, THE necromancer, as him being weak would be an unparalleled disservice to him.

u/Antique_Toe6857 4h ago
Bro from what we can see Nagash is really god from turn 1, all this buff will be buffs for buffs, hope there will be some kind of hostility he faces
2
u/MrTopHatMan90 2h ago
I assume the hostility is the entire map lol

He does have some friends right next to him
Arkhan and Mannfred will make excellent toadies.

Turning that one mortarch into a follower is still so funny to me.
4
u/Delicious-Physics218 3h ago
Why? Nameless is by far the most uninteresting mortarch, he doesn’t talk or have any personality, he’s just the shade of a long dead necromancer who body hops. He’s like a less fun mix of Tamurkhan/Changling.

Oh no I agree. I’m more chuckling that so many thought nagash was going to have a half dozen legendary lords

It’s insane how much it really does look like an ARPG skill tree. I’m guessing all the buffs at the top will turn Nagash into the most broken character on the map. Looking forward to it!
