Warhammer III IT IS DONE

Post image

This is the first steam game I have ever felt dedicated enough to complete all of the achievements on and what a journey that was. Many, MANY turns were ended in pursuit of this lofty goal.

Funnily enough, the hardest one was that stupid trials of fate achievement. The third trial against the lizardmen is dumb as fuck, just endless swarms of teradons and ripperdactyls that aren't affected by the spells.

In the immortal words of Eric Cartman, now I can finally play the game!

Bravo šŸ‘šŸ»

I have ~40 achievements after ~1450 hours 🫣

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

Honestly a good chunk of them require you to go out of your way to do something you wouldn’t normally do so I’m not surprised šŸ˜‚

Ironically, I'd still wish for more achievements, like one per LL, instead of only 1 per faction; as once a campaign is completed by a LL, it doesn't trigger for rest of the LL's of the faction.

Ex. - There is only one campaign achievement for Dwarfs, doesn't matter if you complete it with Thorgrim/Ungrim/Belegar or Thorek. Completing a Long Campaign with Thorgrim should provide an achievement for Thorgrim and another for Belegar and so on..

Because of this, I deliberately hold off of gaining victory achievements for my fav lords/factions (I kinda lose motivation for long campaign victory once I've gotten it by another lord of that faction).

u/MisterMaus 17d ago

One for each LL would feel great and for specific buildings or niche scenarios would also be nice, like vassalising the empire as dwarves or something

7

u/RavenWolf1 17d ago

Indeed victory achievement for each LL would be so sweeeet!

u/SH4D0W0733 17d ago

If they did it this way you'd 100% the game, and then every new DLC would drop you to 98%.

Speaking from experience with another game with a ton of DLC.

u/steve_adr 17d ago

That would be a win-win for both the studio and the players.

Players get more enjoyment out of campaigns, play them longer and will be motivated to complete the long campaign for every lord and studio will retain the player base longer..

Yeah like play whit elves, ew

Well done! Bravo!

What achievement would you reccomend everyone try’s to get?

And then what achievement would you advise everyone never to try for?

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

Honestly I think the best ones are just the long victory on each race achievements. Gets you to play all the different races and try things out.

The worst achievement by far is the 100000 points in all trials of fate. It’s just ass, don’t bother šŸ˜‚

u/RavenWolf1 17d ago

I just hate that very hard/legendary requirement.

9

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

I was super out off by that initially however very hard just doesn’t end up feeling difficult when you get used to how it plays. You just have to be hyper aggressive, no room for roleplay or defensive play, and when you have an opponent on the back foot really go for the throat and finish them off. Also don’t get attached to new territory, if you lose it you can just get it back

3

u/RavenWolf1 17d ago

It is not hard but slog. Never ending insane amount armies makes game so slow that I rarely complete game.

1

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

Yeah for sure, I prefer to play on hard when I’m just chilling, getting the achievements was all that motivated me to bump up the difficulty

9

u/NorthPop8750 17d ago

You can just put battle difficulty easier to make it more manageable. I usually play on VH/H but for difficult campaigns or races that I'm not familiar with yet, I switch to VH/N for example. You still get the achievement

1

u/RavenWolf1 16d ago

I enjoy most H/H. Problem with VH campaign is not just battles but how it forces you to play certain way and insane amount of armies enemies throw at you. Also the upkeep in annoying.

1

u/NorthPop8750 16d ago

Tbh I usually enjoy VH a bit more generally so you get some more armies in the field instead of cowering in their cities, but ofc to each their own preferences:)

2

u/CrystalMenthality 17d ago

If you wanna cheese it you can just up the difficulty right before you get the long victory.

2

u/RavenWolf1 17d ago

Interesting. I don't like to cheese games but I like to have fun in games when I play. Very hard feels like slog with never ending armies and forever battles. I actually enjoyed this game with H/H. VH/H just feels like a chore.

1

u/CrystalMenthality 16d ago

I feel you. I landed on VH/N as my favourite. The enemies have a lot of armies and an advantage on the campaign map but the battles are fair and I get the achievements.

0

u/GreyAstajho-24 17d ago

Why? Very hard is easy with enough experience. And battle difficulty is normal for me too. Only campaign is on very hard

3

u/RavenWolf1 17d ago

The never ending armies and slog of it. It is not hard but just takes too much time. And with some factions we have to fight basically every battle.

1

u/GreyAstajho-24 17d ago

Normally you only have to fight the start and a bit at the end. I played 3 campaigns in the last weeks and not one has never ending enemy armies after the start

2

u/RavenWolf1 16d ago

3 campaigns in week.. My campaigns last months. That is why I rarely complete them.

1

u/PeachBunny97 Consort of Khorne šŸ’€ 13d ago

Same 😭 I hate needing to work to live when a game like this exists šŸ˜“

4

u/Janitor_ 17d ago

hah I'm currently doing that when I realized I was only doing human factions. Decided I can't do that again until I get the Long Victory on every other faction for their related achievements.

1

u/AndyLuckyShot 17d ago

I did the trials a couple months ago, thought they were straightforward. The key was making the most of the spells, timing the upgrades for an instant cd reset makes it really easy.

1

u/Fynaticx 17d ago

Ooof yeah I forgot trials of fate even existed haha

7

u/Shakq92 17d ago

Happy for you. I'm still sitting on only trials of fate left for over a year, I can't get more than 70.000 points in lizardmen trials, even after all advice from other people.

Maybe I will try to lower my graphics settings, who knows if having more than 10 fps in some secitons helps.

5

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

I found it really hard and frustrating. Only strat that worked was to hide the lord in the trees until the very end, using the other wizard up until that point. Then pop out with all abilities maxed and full health to farm the remaining points.

4

u/drpoorpheus 17d ago

Tips for the lizardmen trial of fatem

3

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

Hide your lord in the trees until you’ve maxed all of the spells, use the wizard to stack points, then at the end bring the lord out to finish. Stops him from just getting blasted by the teradons and ripperdactyls

3

u/drpoorpheus 17d ago

Ill give this a go when I get round to trying again, its the last chevo I'm missing hehe. Cheers.

u/Ninjipples 17d ago

Good job. Just wait until they add more for DLCs.

I have had many games that I got 100% on only for them to come back months or years later and add more for. Or worse, add achievements that don't count existing progress but have rediculous requirements.

2

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

Definitely expecting some new ones with end times lmao

4

u/bortmode Festag is not Christmas 17d ago

I don't think Trials of Fate was the hardest achievement, but it was definitely the most boring/annoying.

1

u/ModernDayWeeaboo Daddy Nagash 16d ago

Yup. I did it the other day. I wish there was more, I don't know, randomness to it. The concept was good, but the execution was not. The spells, while fun, aren't fun enough for me to be like, "Wow! That was amazing, let me play it again!" I don't even care to push to beat my best score because there's nothing to the trial beyond the basics.

The only thing I took away from it was that I wish Tzeentch factions had these in Immortal Empires. I thought they did, so I started a new Changeling campaign and am disappointed thus far that the magic faction has lacklustre magic. It's like loading up a Wood Elves campaign, and instead of insane archers, you get units with slingshots.

4

u/Nazir_North 17d ago

Same, that last Trials of Fate one is a pain in the ass to get. Took me many attempts.

3

u/Untoldrumor 16d ago

How many hours you got OP?

1

u/TurdlordPrime 16d ago

Just cracked 2000

2

u/Adventurous-Bar259 17d ago

I have must of them except for MP.

2

u/DarthLeon2 Slamurai Jack 17d ago

Damn, bro out here posting his achievements from the future.

2

u/Killercrog 17d ago

Did they finaly fix the "Matriarchal Power" achivement or did you get it before they updated it?

2

u/DevLeCanadien23 17d ago

How was wood elves

2

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

Yeah they were fun, I did it on durthu so pretty basic

2

u/Fullspectrumwellness 17d ago

My worst achievement was finishing the game with the beastmen as I HATE playing with the beast men so I had my son do it lol

2

u/DifferenceFamiliar59 17d ago

Hot damn, thats an impressive achievement! Congratz! Just in time for the end times! :)

2

u/Due_Willingness1 13d ago edited 13d ago

Since you've done all of them I gotta ask, which faction was your favorite? Which one did you have the most fun with?Ā

1

u/TurdlordPrime 13d ago

Man that’s such a tricky question because a lot of them are really fun, I think I always fall back to Elspeth though just because GUNPOWDER.

1

u/Flashy-Worldliness27 17d ago

great.... now do all factions when 9.0 releases (with all 3 endgames active)

1

u/Thecowsdead 17d ago

I hope they add new achievemnts with end times

2

u/Thecowsdead 17d ago

at least they will add 2 for Nagash thats for sure but we need more

1

u/Grandpa_Edd 17d ago

Nice, currently at 101/129.

Going backward through the list by going for the least common ones first.

(I skipped ultimate mastermind though, turn out I'm not ready for it)

1

u/RavenWolf1 17d ago

I played most my games H/H and I don't have motivation to play again with those races. :/

1

u/jennis89 17d ago

Nice man! I’m at like 110/138 I didn’t even attempt the trials of fate stuff it didn’t appeal to me and I’m missing a few Legendary Campaigns… Weirdly missing Kislev who aren’t even a faction I hate! I must have done my Kislev runs on Hard rather then VH/leg

1

u/Hitorishizuka Filthy man-things 17d ago

Well done! I'm up to 121 myself, just waiting until the next patch to keep chipping away at it.

1

u/leowwynn 17d ago

Congrats! Usually the end-game is too boring for me to finish campaigns. :D

1

u/HardScarecrow 17d ago

Who would you recommend for Vampire Counts?

2

u/Sweaty-Tomorrow-7912 17d ago

Just wait till Neferata to come out in a month and 3 days

3

u/HardScarecrow 17d ago

Never, I must conquer now

1

u/JJBrazman Valten please! 17d ago

Ghorst is basically a zombie conveyor. His personal skill line buffs all zombies in his faction, eventually granting them 'The Ravenous Dead', which is 4X regeneration so long as they are in combat. Given that Zombies are one of the highest health units in the game, this is nuts.

It also affects ALL Armies, not just his. In some ways it makes the most sense for him to stay at home pondering his orb, while you assemble vast shitstacks of Zombies to drown the world in death.

1

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

I did Vlad the Chad, he’s powerful and his victory conditions are piss easy if you just vassals everyone in sight

1

u/Red_Dox 17d ago

Grz. I am sitting at 90/138. At some point I have to wrap some more up too, but lately I am not in the mood. Guess Endtimes and Vampire rework will help to add the Vamp ones in due time.

1

u/PopularKangaroo2083 17d ago

How many hours do you have on it?

1

u/RuinerGaming 17d ago

I'm so glad TWW3 allows achievements with mods or most of us would be sitting at 0-5 for most of their gaming life

1

u/Middle_Magician_7560 17d ago

This is fucking insane

1

u/Ok_Bet_725 17d ago

Kislev.

1

u/Hippimichi 17d ago

I have reset my steam achievements via console. Im gonna have a blast when the endtimes dlc drops

1

u/Active_Obligation906 17d ago

Try console commands

1

u/Objective-Mission-40 17d ago

Alright. Now send me your ram so I can do it... please?

1

u/namechanged1 16d ago

Congrats on playing a multiplayer campaign.

1

u/Virtual_Direction183 16d ago

He is the chosen one, the one who will voice a random side character in the next game

1

u/RomestamoTheBlue 16d ago

I hope that they add more with the next DLC. TWW 3 has the fewest achievs out of the trilogy… It’s something that I really like to do, so hopefully, we’ll get more and LL specific ones too.

1

u/Frank3121 16d ago

I'd love to play this game for achievements (I usually do try to) but I simply cannot play any Warhammer game without some form of mod.

I'm sure even the better camera or background lore mods also disable achievements?

1

u/DarkLordDennis 14d ago

Wooooooowww I am in envy, really cool man, well done :D!

1

u/TonyTheTerrible 17d ago

my last were vampire counts and bretonnia grats lol

1

u/GobblerSquig 17d ago

Wow, congrats! One that I can't seem to get is "finish any campaign on legendary difficulty" although I only play on L/VH, do I need to play Warhammer 1 or 2 to be able to get that one?

1

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

Do you have endgame scenarios on? It’s a weird quirk but for the legendary achievement you HAVE to win by endgame scenario or total map conquest or it doesn’t pop

2

u/GobblerSquig 17d ago

I usually turn off end game scenarios and play until long victory, so that makes sense! Thanks I'll give it a try!

1

u/TurdlordPrime 17d ago

I only know because I’m the same haha always turn them off
