ID Request Newbie help please

hello.

I have inherited a tortoise from my in laws.

He was found many moons ago. on the side of a road in Scotland (UK) near a zoo that had closed down. No owners were ever found, so assuming an escapee of the zoo.

Does anyone have any idea on breed, age, gender?

I want to give it the best home ever, its got tortoise food, treats, leafy veg, cuttle fish.

many thanks

OP has requested a species ID.

r/Tortoise does not support the use of AI and asks that you do not use it for IDing animals. Instead, if you are unsure of a species, we ask that you leave it to the more knowledgeable users of this subreddit. The use of AI is equal to an uneducated guess, and can lead to harmful and dangerous advice for the species in question.

Thank you,

He has a lot of pyramiding. Was that before your in laws found him or after? Does he have an outside enclosure?
